let's hope they will open the as1m in near future.

got some cash at the moment but put in FD ( 1 monthly).  don't dare to go into stocks atm, looks very expensive now. where to put money ah?

property? people say got bubble building up there.

ayo yo..
*
dont think they will open the bumi quoto to non bumi for AS1M, or else PERKASA will make a big issues...
1 year ago when PNB open unsold AS Malaysia bumi quota to Non bumi, Utusan Melayu already make noise.
If u really want to top up AS1M/ASW/ASM, i will suggest u to try and error with any agent bank that u know well, some tellers are very helpful.

True what you say.... BUT MONEY is more important.... AS1M only 40%++ subscribed of 10 Billion (30% fully by chinese, some 8% by indians & 2% by malays/bumi) still have around 6 Billion++ left.... need to fill that 6 billion..... if my prediction is correct, pnb will announce little bit higher dividend rate for AS1M at maybe around 6.5% - 7% to attract people at the fund.

it depends on how u look at it, chinese quota is full, indian quota is > half full, Bumi quota is 98% available.
If they declare high dividend for AS1M what will be the impact? Chinese that wanted to invest more cant do that anymore, it will probably increase the indian's investment in AS1M since it is not full yet, but dont think will have any impact on Bumi's 98% availaibilty, as Bumi group still have many choices for fixed price fund, they still can top up those funds with good records such as ASB, ASW and ASD. So i dont see any resons PNB will declare 6.5-7% to please the majority (non bumi) investors in AS1M, and disappoint the Bumi investors in ASD, ASW (which majority are Bumi investors), Dividend for ASW/ASD is less than 6.5% for year 2010

There are many more ways for BN government to raise fund (besides thru AS1M), they can raise thru Sukuk Malaysia, Bond Malaysia. Increase % of EPF contribution or etc.....so not necessary to raise fund by filling up the remaining 6 billion of AS1M by Bumi.

Me and my sister managed to register ASB this year using birth certificate, my race is sino-kadazan(makes me a bumi).
My younger brother can't because his race is chinese due to the officer refuse to put his race under sino. its totally unfair. vmad.gif  so fortunate I'm also got ASW2020 afew years ago. rclxms.gif
*
if one of your parents are sino kadazan, the jabatan pendaftaran negara cannot refused your brother's birth cert to be stated as sino kadazan.
in the Race colume, a child can either follow mother or father.

I thought in Sabah, when the father is non-bumi, their children will be considered non-bumi.
*
that is in sarawak, both parents must be bumi for their kids to become a bumi, for Sabah, either one will do, not necessary father, mother also possible

Selling ASN3 is a nightmare. I have invested in this and want to cash out after making profit.
I went to few banks, all said their system can't connect to PNB and asked me to go to PNB if want to sell the units  vmad.gif
*
if asnb system is down, all pnb funds will be affected, not only asn3, sometimes is the agent banks connections down, not pnb, so next time if u go to say Cimb, and line down, u can still try Maybank or Rhb/ post office.

Based on their historical declaration, maybe mostly likely next week, or the 23rd.. ^^

Hm... those funds also give consistent returns to the investors.

But from my perspective, my investments does not consider the both of them due to the service charge of 5%..

As an investor who invest heavily, with low personal savings ratio, it might be too risky for me to risk part of my capital when i withdraw it because its more on long term than short term..

If you are thinking about accumulating for long term, i guess ASG offers better, namely 3 funds under ASG..

Those funds should be available at most of the time..

Hope this information could assist you..  nod.gif
*
in fact nothing special abt the ASG series, u need to pay the 5% service charge still, and I found that private mutual funds equity fund series perform better, if u already hv the pnb's fixed price fund why not u diversify ur investment in equity fund in private company? Some distributor like FSM and cimbclicks offer lower sales charge of around 2% only

That's interesting! I must check up with the local Amanah Saham Branch Office here.. May be they have opened up the Bumi/Indian quote for all.

Anyone else got into AS1M lately?
*
chinese quota is rm3bil, as long as someone sold, u can buy, subject to the availability.....
If u know any agent bank staff, they can help to bank in for u.

how the sales gonna pick up since the chinese quota has finished and bumi has better return from ASB, unless the dividend is higher than ASB.

well said, those who have invested in As1m just want the miracle to happen and they day dream the return to be as good as Asb

I see no reason for bumis to buy into ASNB if they haven't maxed out on ASB. For bumis who have maxed out on ASB and who has also bought into ASNB, I still see no reason for them to sell their ASNB unless there is something more attractive in the market. ASNB's dividends seems quite good so why would bumis sell it off?
*
what do u meant by ASNB?

PNB is the holding company that own 100% of ASNB, ASNB offers and manage various fund including fixed price funds like ASB, ASW, AS1M, and also variable price products like ASN, ASN2, ASN3 and etc...

AS1M dividen being lower than those for BUMIs, i really see no rationale why PNB didnt open up all those quota, BUMIs wont pour their money in because they just got too many options. Why oh why, why dont give other Malaysians a chance to buy. BUMIs wont loose a thing if AS1M is fully sold out, they got better funds/options.
*
not really, ASD dividend is less than AS1M for this year

7 years? due to no transaction for 7 years, ur monies might have been transferred to the Unclaimed Monies Act..
*
the 7 years rules only apply on the bank deposit s account, ASNB is a mutual fund company, so not apply.
th ASM account cannot be zero, as the rule is u need to keep a certain small amount say RM10 (not sure abt this pls clarify) to keep the account alive.

Hmm the annual report for AS1M is still not out yet? I can't seem to find it anywhere is the ASNB website. I am interested to know their actual performance for 2010, see if they can beat the benchmark.  The financial statements would be nice to read to, to check how are they deploying the funds. laugh.gif

Report usually ready after 3 mths

Wut are my other options?
Would it be possible for ASD & ASW2020 to be a joint account for son(bumi) & wife(foreigner)?
ASW and ASD how may %?
Other than ASD or ASW2020 should I be looking at Unit Trusts? or others?
*
For all ASNB products, joint names between 2 adults are not possible.

Can we use funds in ASW, ASM and AS1M as collateral for loan?
*
only ASB/ASN can used as collatral now. B4 1st July 2010, ASW2020 can be used as collaterel to apply OD, but it has been freeze.
Heard from the PNB agent that there was one Malay taikoon pledged RM30mil ASW for OD facility and create the chaos in ASNB, and since then they freeze it already.

but if I am not mistaken..even if to used ASB as collateral as loan...you can only use the CERT as collateral....meaning if you put cash in to your asb then it doesnt count...have to apply asb loan to get the cert, then use the cert as collateral...
*
yes u must be convert the money in the passbook to the form of certificate then use the cert to apply for OD facility, I nderstand now the agent banks don't offer OD to individual name, only to the sole propriertor. Means ASB cert under personal name, OD under sole prop name

This is not particularly good news to me, I'm afraid, what will happen to our money if the tower fails due to whatever reasons, say eg, a contractor managed to absconded with the money ?

Dos PNB have a good track record in building towers ?
*
Agree...PNB has no experience in Contrsuction of Commerical building, this is not their strenght...if PNB is using particular fund say ASM to fund the construction i will withdraw my $$ then

to convert to cert means like how?
still can withdraw the money like normal? or cannot, and have to leave the money in asb for some period like Fixed deposit?
*
U can convert to cert by filling up a form in PNB office, once u pledge the OD cert to the bank and granted the OD facility, u can "withdraw" the $$ from your OD account. If u still not understand u shd learn the basic banking product first like current account, Overdraft, commitment fees.....
