Maxis Bhd is testing a number of sites with green technology that can cut energy wastage by more than 40%, sources said. Maxis had hired Eltek Valere (M) Sdn Bhd, an associate of a Norwegian telecom specialist, to test eight base transceiver station (BTS) sites with the new technology using a product called free-cooling box, they said. Meanwhile, Eltek general manager Wan Nor Asmadi confirmed that it had received initial orders from Maxis but declined to comment on the contract value.
