20000units. not planning to sell lol but just calculating for fun. Bought mine at 5.38 so 5.40 can earn RM100 if i sell after brokerage fees of rm300. This 1 is my long term investment.
*
Wow, you are rich to be able to buy 20000 units at RM5.38.
You are going to hold on to it? For how long?

Received my refund today.  My application was rejected because of invalid CDS account.  How do we check the status of our CDS account, e.g. is it nomimee, etc.?  Please advise as I have several IPO rejected in the past even though I passed the 1st ballot.  Gosh!
*
You better check and rectify it before the next IPO.
You lose out on so many opportunities.

If maxis can give up to 8 % dividend then worth to hold it.
*
Is the 8% dividend good for a RM5 share (let's just make it a round number for easy calculation).?
If you have 1000 shares, that means your dividend is RM80.
That means for RM5000 you get RM80.
This will work out to 1.6% interest.

Is this the way to calculate the dividend payout?

8% of 1000 shares is 80 shares (not RM80), worth RM400.00

1 thing to be ask here, Maxis got said to be 8% of dividen?
as I knew they promised of 75% of profit as dividen only.

from previous quarterly report, EPS 8cents, dividen 6cens
let we forecast yearly EPS 8X4=32cents, 75% of 32cents is 24cents
If the share price maintain at 5.40, 24cents is represent 4.44% only. 8% still far away

Thank you for correcting me.

Do they always mention dividend in x sen per share?
Which stock has the highest dividend (in term of sen per share).

Is it a wise move to sell 3,000 Maxis shares to buy 2,000 Maybank shares?

You look at volatile of the business sector.

the only reason stock can go down because the BUSINESS turn BAD.

No one have crystal ball to tell future for both company..both have their strenght in their sector.

What the price you bought MAXIS ?

for me holding both the best.
*
I was looking at the dividend point of view.
Maxis 32 sen a year but Maybank is 55 sen a year.

Almost same amount invested but Maxis dividend was 32 sen last year and Maybank dividend was 55 sen last year.

your only concern is the dividends? i mean the reason for this move.

you gotta decide which industry, risks and etc.....
it's more than just dividends, at least to me.
*
Yes. It is dividend.
Instead of putting the money in the FD, put in Maxis or Maybank for long term.

Yes. Both also can go either direction.
That is why I am asking is it wise to switch.
