Most protein powder for BBers (ON, Muscletech, etc...) contain artificial sweetener.
Not recommended for expecting moms.

However, you can PM 4Rings. He sells pure whey protein. And also ask for his advice and opinion. He is a very knowledgable guy.

My friend just delivered and during her pregnancy she took Herbalife so I am pretty sure that Herbalife is safe for pregnant lady.

I don't know the exact ingredients in herbalife's stuff. So no comments.

As for 'organic baby', what in the heck does it refer to? rclxub.gif

Actually, it should be the whole nutrition and diet.

Not just protein or calcium or iron or folate or omega-3 fatty acids or etc etc etc...

Herbalife and Amway proteins are not suitable for expecting mothers. They contain soy protein.

Confused About Soy?--Soy Dangers Summarized

* High levels of phytic acid in soy reduce assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc. Phytic acid in soy is not neutralized by ordinary preparation methods such as soaking, sprouting and long, slow cooking. High phytate diets have caused growth problems in children.
* Trypsin inhibitors in soy interfere with protein digestion and may cause pancreatic disorders. In test animals soy containing trypsin inhibitors caused stunted growth.
* Soy phytoestrogens disrupt endocrine function and have the potential to cause infertility and to promote breast cancer in adult women.
* Soy phytoestrogens are potent antithyroid agents that cause hypothyroidism and may cause thyroid cancer. In infants, consumption of soy formula has been linked to autoimmune thyroid disease.
* Vitamin B12 analogs in soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body's requirement for B12.
* Soy foods increase the body's requirement for vitamin D.
* Fragile proteins are denatured during high temperature processing to make soy protein isolate and textured vegetable protein.
* Processing of soy protein results in the formation of toxic lysinoalanine and highly carcinogenic nitrosamines.
* Free glutamic acid or MSG, a potent neurotoxin, is formed during soy food processing and additional amounts are added to many soy foods.
* Soy foods contain high levels of aluminum which is toxic to the nervous system and the kidneys.

Happy drinking. tongue.gif

Whey protein is the best source of protein supplement. It contains all the bioactive components which are present in human mother's milk except lactoglobulin. It contains all the essential amino acids which are vital for growth of the baby and at the same time boost the immunity of the mother.
Other than protein, you should make sure you are getting all the important vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids particularly DHA which is important for the development of the baby's brain. To have a proper nutritional supplement plan is not as simple as taking multi vitamins, iron and folic acid as prescribed by your gynae. You should seek professional advice from an experienced clinical nutritionist.

“You are what you can eat. What would you be from a change you had grown accustomed to?”

Allergic to dairy proteins for infant during pregnancy is not established. But feeding of adult foods to baby is known to cause constipation.

Posted sincerely in the welfare of unborn and not to the interest of H&F pricks.

4rings right...and remember that most soy are GMO...most legumes are tend to inflammation, grains too, contain anti-nutrient substances such as phytate...other foods also contains anti-nutrient substances, but the quantity is not that much, and most grains are not nutrient dense but loaded with carbs only
