from my point of view..
actually interns are just "additional" workers to a company..
cos' they do not need you indeed to contribute anything to the company...
interns just go to the company to learn things and get experience...
just like need to pay fees when you going to school classes...

but i feel that for certain companies...
if the interns fulfill their requirements of an employee..
they should pay them certain amount of wages instead of nothing or too low wages...

for eg:
if the intern able to complete all the tasks or jobs been assigned and the job is similar to that of other employees in the company, then i think the company should pay a reasonable wage to them.


I have some friends also undergoing their internship in a company..named MXSXMO (may I type out the full name)...
I could tell that the employers are so unkind that they only pay my friends RM250 basic + RM5/form for commission...
their job is selling credit cards like what other people is doing..

the problem is they are assigned to different shopping complex...
can you imagine that they have to spend for the food and parking fees which are considered as quite expensive for a student?
morover the restaurants are all selling "not cheap" food, as well as for in the food court..

they are forced to spend so much in a day..
probably about RM13 (1 meals + parking fees), minimum per day..
RM13 x 24 = RM3xx (haven add petrol fees yet)

and they gotto work from noon till late of the night..
some customer still asking them why don't they buy some free gifts to attract more customers..
cos for market price in selling credit cards...
employee will be entitled to commission of nearly to RM80 or more for a sales..
but the customers do not know they only have RM5 commission instead of RM80 per sales..
and they were required to go outstation too..

1 week 6 days, have to stand from noon to night, no compensation for transportation or pertol or parking,
and they only pay you RM250 for basic + RM5/commission...
anyone interested in this job...?'


I just feel that this company is little bit too over in the way of treating the interns...
the interns even need to 'pay' to work..
interns are still students..
no income yet...
although they are given commission but do you think selling credit cards is an easy job..?'
some will only apply if there's free gift...
can't they think and treat the interns in a more considerate way and pay them reasonably since they did the same job as others too..?!!"

my friends also telling the same thing that they cannot complain to the company or uni cos' of the same reason..
so sad and sick of this kind of unkind employers...
probably they just thinking of their own benefits and advantages...!!!

as far as i concern.. many of the companies that intend to get cheap workforce will not care about the interns but only their own benefits...
