i just bought a new Samsung LA-32B550 which support Full HD.
And based on my previous post, i also bought a cap ayam HDMI cable worth Rm39 from Carrefour. Yesterday i try to test to connect it to my new TV, dunno why the pics is suddenly blackout, and suddenly show the pic again, and the it blackout again..wired, that looks like something wrong.. So wondering is it becoz of the cheap brand HDMI cable? for your information, i'm using my new PS3 Slim and when first time connect via HDMI cable to the TV, i enable and tick all display option available (576i, 720p, 1080i & 1080P), at first the pic is stunning, then after awhile it show the above funny pics.. Any sifus here minds to teach a noob like me what happen? coz i thought cheap HDMI cable is at no diff with branded HDMI cable, or perhaps i do something wrong? |

QUOTE(geekster129 @ Nov 10 2009, 11:39 AM) ^ thanks geekster No, this is not a recommended solution. If you run a game which only supports 720p, and you only tick 1080p, your PS3 will fall back to SD resolution (480p/576p). which will make the game look awefully pixelated on the LCD. Added on November 10, 2009, 11:46 am Sean, I am suspecting two issues: It could be because of the HDMI cable itself being faulty, and another reason could be due to the HDCP handshake problem. Some people in other forums may suggest to see if it is possible to run a firmware upgrade on the TV itself to fix the problem. You may want to check out this site? http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/detail/...Y&menu=download Wow i didn't know that TV also got firmware update like PS3 QUOTE(gizmo78 @ Nov 10 2009, 01:00 PM) Sean, Thanks bro. I've done what you have suggested. The prob is, whenever i start off my ps3, 1st few secs it is ok, then suddenly it will blackout, and resumed, then blackout again, so can't really have time to do and save the setting..You may want to reset your PS3 slim video setting (5 second - power button until your hear the beep sound) the setting will revert back to SD. Try:- 1) When prompt for video setting, choose HDMI -> custom -> just tick 576...720..1080i...-> then save setting. 2) With TV & PS3 active, try unplug & reconnect back the hdmi cable looks like i gonna invest a better quality HDMI cable and see still got the same prob or not.. Added on November 10, 2009, 4:19 pmhey i just found out from the manual it stated as below:- QUOTE The TV may not output sound and pictures may be displayed with abnormal colour when DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Boxes / Satellite receivers supporting HDMI versions older than 1.3 are connected. When connecting an older HDMI cable and there is no sound, connect the HDMI cable to the HDMI IN 3(DVI) jack and the audio cables to the DVI AUDIO IN jacks on the back of the TV. If this happens, contact the company that provided the DVD / Blu-ray player / Cable Box / Satellite receiver to confirm the HDMI version, then request a firmware update. HDMI cables that are not 1.3 may cause annoying flicker or no screen display. So might be due to the cheap brand HDMI that didn't come with ver. 1.3? Any thought?
