Due to the number of problematic sellers, we have now implemented a safe trader feature that you can apply for to enhance your reputation as a genuine buyer/seller. This new status can only be given to you by an admin member, and you are then expected to maintain a high level of consistency in all your trades. Rest assured that we will not be giving out these tags to everyone who claims for it, as we want to maintain a high level of integrity among genuine buyers and sellers, and weed out cheats and joy traders.

There is currently no set criteria for us to give you a Safe Trader tag, and its up to the discretion of the administrator to bestow it on you. Once this is fully functional, it will make it easier for genuine traders and buyers to deal with each other, while keeping out those who are just around to waste time. The tag is a recognition that the member has a substantial previous trading reputation in Lowyat.NET. It is not a guarantee that the trader will be safe to deal with. YOU ARE AT ALL TIMES ADVISED TO PRACTICE COMMON SENSE AND OTHER SAFE TRADING METHODS, EVEN WHEN DEALING WITH A SAFE TRADER

If you think you are qualified enough to have a Safe Trader tag, then submit your application and details about your transaction and who have you dealt with who can support you being a honest and trustworthy seller and we will decide whether you should be tagged as a safe trader.

Things to NOTE :

• You must have a substantial number of trades.
• You must be a member for at least 2 years.
• The tag is not just a tag, it would mean that you will have to adhere to a high level of conduct when doing transactions whether it be buying or selling. Failure to live up to the tag will result in it being removed, and if you lose it, you will never get it back.
• Those who are only active in the sales section and are barely part of this community as a whole also need not apply as the tag is about being a responsible trader in the community, not a profit hunter.
• It is hard for us to give you a tag if we do not know you personally. As such, when applying for a tag, get supporting references from members of the moderating team, if you know one, or well-known respected members of the community to back up your application.
• Traders who are here solely to make money from the forums and not to contribute to the development of our community will not be Safe Traders.
• If you have a warning for a trade related offence, such as indirect bump, having multiple accounts, opening multiple threads, you will not receive the tag. If you had a warning for a trade related offence, we will only consider your application 2 years from the date of your last warning.
• If you have a duplicate account, you won't get the tag. We have a fairly accurate system of determining who has duplicate accounts. If we are in doubt, we will seek clarification from you. If your explanation is unsatisfactory, we will not give you the tag.

keith, we are only giving out these tags to proven traders to maintain a high level of integrity. You might need to have a good track record before we can give you the tag.

arj, those in your list have been approved. those who do not receive their tag are rejected, not because you're not a honest trader, but because you haven't proven yourself for the tag. More trades and also a higher reputation in the community among senior members and also the staff/mods will earn you not just a tag but the respect of fellow members.

tags updated. If you did not get yours, then either you did not fulfil a criteria stated on the first page, or your application just wasn't enough. You can reapply again. Think of this as a resume/job application. Put in your details properly and you'll get the tag faster. And make sure you have got all the said requirements.

if this tag was that easy to give out, there woudn't even be a need for it in the first place.

and judging by the number of applications, all you people think it is something that we give out for fun. Also, judging by the number of people who know they don't deserve the tag who just want to try their luck and apply, don't expect us to be sending out rejection answers to everyone.

The first topic was quite clear. State your case and we'll have a look. If you deserve the tag, you will get it.. sooner or later. If you don't then you wont. And we are not obliged to give you a reason why you are not getting it either.

If you think the thread is dead, then don't apply. If you are a good enough and honest reliable person, you don't even need the tag, or we'll give it to you without even you applying for it.

Please take note here, safe trader tags are not a give and forget tags. They can be revoked at any time and any reputable member can register a complaint against a safe trader should they experience any problems with them.

The safe trader tag is not just to ensure that the trader is a good trader, but also to ensure that he behaves in a way that will ensure the tag remains with him.

p/s we can't collect IC's and so on. it is not full proof, and its way too much of work for a independent non-profit site like this.

it seems a lot of you are applying for the safe trader tag, so i'm going to reveal one of the first things we look at from your application.

If you have a warn marker still active on your profile, even at 10%, your application is automatically rejected. Wait until it expires (6 months from date of offense) before applying.
