I have a few questions.

1. I am thinking of painting inside and outside of house. Does anyone know of a good contractor or skilled painter in Penang that I can discuss with?

2. I am also considering painting the parts where I can reach myself. But have not painted a house before. So if there is someone who can advice me here or in Penang, please let me know.

3. For renovation, I want to make two balcony, change the windows to balcony door and build a porch deck made of wood (this is the roof for porch and also a deck for 2nd floor). Do I need to draw plans and submit to local council?

4. Does anyone has info on good reliable contractors in Penang that are skilled in building a wooden roof for my porch area?

5. Thinking of extending up the back portion of my house too. Its 2.5 storey, split unit. So the 3rd floor is only the front part. The back part is already the roof. So I am thinking of adding another room up, I guess it will become 3.5 storey. So will need to remove the roof on back part and extend it up and then put the roof over. So its rather simple - a room with windows, balcony and new roof over it. I would think I need to get permit from local council. How much would a renovation like this cost? Do I have to redo the piling or something?
