So, what's the status of digital tv broadcast in Malaysia? Is it only on Lembah Klang only or when it will go nationwide. All TV broadcast have to cease analog broadcast on 2015 so what will it be before 2015? And do our people are ready for DTV transition? hmm.gif

are these formats (DMB-T, DVB-T) compatible, or will you need different set top boxes?

i think you'll need to buy a set top box if your TV dont have it.

but is digital transmission will have lesser noise and distortion compare to analog?

Some of the latest plasma and lcd tv being sold in our country still lacks a built in Digital tuner, I guess many would need this tuner.

What about the aerial? Do we need to change the current ones we're having to receive digital signals?

No noise or distortion, that's what we call digital, either you see it or null.
Nicer part is that it will not distort by bad weather. So no rain fade.

You receive it using normal UHF antenna, but via a converter box.
Quality of course better than those RTM or TV3 over astro due to compression.

We can't blame them as we still haven officially announce the details of the DTV.
What if they mass produce in format A and suddenly govt change to format B?

we are talking about new digital TV such as DVB-T or ATCS (? in US) not general digital signal..

Basically digital + capability to transmit 720P/1080P content.
