bro, they are only interchangable only in that domain.. DVI to HDMI converter (digital to digital)

RGB to component (analog to analog)

DVI to RGB (only if you have certain type of analog DVI signal,) there is DVI-I DVI-D, DVI-A DVI dual link

if you want to try, why dun buy a HDMI to DVI dongle then plug into a DVI to RGB dongle..see if you get HDMI to RGB as the end result .. cos doesn't work that way..

you need a video transcoder/scan converter.. costs like 300-1000 I think..
then you also have to consider HDMI with HDCP...

I think he's gonna use laptop(analog VGA) to LCD TV (analog component) but dunno if it works with a simple passive (no electronics) cable converter..
