hokuan: You got PM.
REALCollector: Is that all? Please shoot some more. MasterLaoDa: Sorry I don't have the R35. I'll hunt and wait for the good deal again. Will let you know. Anyway, if you're interested in other stuff, let me know. Jasonist: F40 LW is very easy to find unlike other cars. It's very short on my list to hunt for the red one to complement the black. Will try and take a shot of the box with the 787b car. But I reckon quality and detail wise, the HPI is still better. But I'm still hunting for HPI's #55. ericmaxman: Ok, that makes it easier. Will PM you. I found a yellow RHD one. AMG_soh: For the DeLorean, I'll PM you. Anyway, the SL65 AMG Black Series is already out but in limited quantities. Lovely orange. ![]() ![]() |

Internet lah. But I don't think you'll like the price. It's close to USD 500 for limited edition.

This two boxes came in today. The one in front is a Bimmer from UK and the one at the back is a Merc from France.
![]() Any guesses to what Bimmer and what Merc this is? The guy that I won the Bimmer from was very honest. Gave me back 5 pounds because he said he charged too much. I thought it was standard price that UK people were changing for Royal Mail. It got here super fast too. Sent on September 11th. Very hard to find people like this nowadays... |

You sure hokuan? How big was the package? How many cars you bought? Perhaps USD 70 was with tracking and USD 39 was without tracking.

hokuan: I assume the USD 70 postage was on the package box? Then you're lucky lor to get away with such cheap shipping.
REALCollector: Ikan bilis? wei6048866: Apparently this Superleggera is as hot as the Reventon. From what I see, it's nice. I prefer the orange one though. If you're interested, let me know. I'll check the pricing as I'm currently trying to gather as many people who would be interested |

wei6048866: You have PM.
Difference between a 1/18 scale and a 1/43 is... ![]() REALCollector: Aiyoh... Not a big brother lah. Very small brother in the world of diecasting ! Hey, please stop spamming the thread with Ferrari race cars ok? chobo: Nice pics of the 1:1 bull. advocado: Actually, the McLaren SLR from Maisto is one of the better offerrings from Maisto. Really good bang for the buck. Just like the Porsche Carera GT from Maisto. As for cabinets, I got Ikea Bertby wall mounted cabinets. but it can only fit 10 1/18 cars in one cabinet. Baronzemo: Wahlau eh.... Truly salute you man ! You're my idol. That's a very difficult to find limited edition 1/18 Autoart DBR 009 2008. myke: Spring cleaning? ![]() Oh man... Look at this. You sure I got more cars to clean than you? Jasonist: The orange SL65 AMG is limited edition from Mercedes. They specially released 100 pieces in conjunction of the IAA in Frankfurt just like what Koenigsegg did when they released 100 limited pieces of the 1/18 CCX at the autoshow. xXchelseafanXx: Welcome. Oh, before I forget, this came in today... ![]() There's two cars in there. One of them myke already has and the other one AMG_soh already has too. |

myke: You're very attentive ! Kudos.
I think somehow AA does not have the right to produce the McLaren F1 GTR. So I think we would only expect the re-release to come from Minichamps. Baronzemo: F430 Elites are cheap cheap only. Can buy 5 Elites with your Aston Gulf. |

Depending on what you're getting. If I have to buy USD 100 for only ONE that is my all time favourite car, I would go that route. Better buy something you really like than wasting money getting other cars because everybody has one or just because it's cheap.

Models done by decent modeller based on resins like Starter, BBR, MR, Provence Moulage. MG Models, Versus can be very nice and have mode details when compared to Autoart / Kyosho. But the problem is sometimes there are models that Autoart / Kyosho makes but there's no equivalent in the resin kits and vice versa too. Resin kits are mostly limited to 1/43 and if you are looking at 1/18 scale, then it becomes harder not to mention that it becomes more expensive !
As for model kit cars that comes with diecast body, Porcher does 1/8 scale and there are a lot of aftermarket parts you can buy to make your model nicer. Very expensive. Tamiya 1/12 diecast comes semi-assembled and some parts you need to assemble yourself. Expensive too. But there's also parts that we call transkits that can transform existing diecast to a different model variation. Please see the Hamann transkit example below; http://cgi.ebay.com/1-18-APM-Hamann-Ferrar...id=p3286.c0.m14 See this website posted by AMG_soh some time back. If you look, there are some variations of the same base model that you can achieve by using transkits. http://picasaweb.google.com/xps420ss |

advocado: I think good paint and airbrushing skills can achieve the effect.
REALCollector: Lazy to take pics lah. About the McLaren F1 GTR, I think Minichamps have already produced them in 1/43 scale already. Just not yet in 1/18 scale. AMG_soh: Where to find additional rims to mod? myke: Aiyoh, POISON lah you. Speaking about 1/12, my recent haul below should shock and awe you too... Anyway, another arrived in today from UK. ![]() ![]() Any guesses? They are Bimmers. One is a 1/12 scale and two 1/43 scale. Actually, this one has a story. The seller from UK seller TNT Express for shipping from UK using the Economy Express option. Using this option, I'm told (by TNT Malaysia) that the package will land in Singapore and brought in by truck to KL. To my surprise, I got an invoice yesterday to pay the tax totalling RM 91.56. I argued that goods totalling less than RM 500 would not usually be taxed. TNT claims that since goods were brought in by truck from Singapore, any amount would be taxed on taxable goods. Secondly, I mentioned that nobody came to inform me that I had goods belonging to me that I need to clear myself or appoint a forwarder to clear it for me as what Pos Malaysia does it for my other stuff. I usually go to KLIA personally as I usually do not trust the forwarders to do it for me. They would just accept what the Kastam prints on paper and add their clearance chargers on top of it. But TNT claims that for goods below RM 500, they will automatically clear the goods on behalf of the recipients without asking. So I ended up paying RM 91.56 of which RM 35 is their clearance charges, RM 1.75 for tax on top of tax and RM 54.81 for the duties. I also argued that the duties should be less since it should only be based on the declared GBP 40 value by the seller. But TNT claims that Kastam takes CIF (Cost Insurance Feight) as the value to be taxed. So the tax was based on RM 353.58 (231.91 from GBP 40, RM 2.32 for insurance and RM 119.35 for shipping). The RM 54.81 duties were calculated as follows; (353.58 x 0.05) + (353.58 x 1.05 x 0.10) = 54.81 Just thought I share this and hope those who go this route will be aware that cheap is not always good as it will turn out that you pay the same thing at the end of the day. That GBP 40 value declared was already lowered !
Well, it's not so bad after all since I got the items for a steal. It's not the money. It's the principle behind it that I will always contest. |

REALCollector: Yes, you are right. It's never easy buying online and overseas. But I guess if you have to buy them online, those are the kind of things that one has to go through. Like they say, no pain, no gain. Anyway, the guy that refunded me GBP 5 for shipping, his 1/18 scale package reached me in one week flat with Royal Mail Signed for.
advocado: The older road car Porsches don't excite me too much. The newer ones yes but only so so. The Le Mans Porsche GT1 version is different though. Before I forget, here's a groupie pic of the stuff I got lately as promised. ![]() Sad that today (as with all Fridays) there weren't any packages that were suppose to come. I know that there are two that have already reached and were already out of Kastams on September 16th but because of the long holidays, I guess Pos Malaysia has to clear a lot of backlog. Hopefully, coming Monday would be a better day. |

MasterLaoDa: Will do. Patience !
REALCollector: Wahlau... I thought I read somewhere that the Ferrari F50 GT project was halted to pool all resources and help Schumacher get the WC. I believe only 3 F50 GT cars were built and they were sold only to prominent Ferrari owners and made them promise that they cannot race those cars. |

REALCollector: Nice FXX there. How does it compare with HW Elite's version of the FXX?
mirage-rs: Models from Redline are indeed expensive but they are not that expensive as say models from BBR, MR or Looksmart. hokuan: Wah... Very curious. BTW, this two boxes came in today. The left one from Germany and right one from Korea. ![]() Ok, some clues... Left one contains 2 cars. One's a BMW Le Mans car and the other is a Super Elite ! The right one is a Lamborghini. Any guesses to what models are the 3 cars? |

mirage-rs: Whoa... Very good guess. It's a V12 LMR dealer edition. Thought that this was the same as the Kyosho one that does not have engine cover opening but to my surprise, it does. Anyway, the one I have is the American Le Mans series. Not the 24 hours Le Mans version.
The Lambo is not a Gallardo or a Reventon. I wish it were. As for the Super Elite, a good hint is what RealCollector showed us recently in 1/43 scale. hokuan: You finally did it. Congrats. You pulled the trigger and got both. Good on you and good prices too. Great that you got them fast too. From HK? Waiting for your photos. I think you are the first here to get the Suzuka Grey R8. Anyway, thought that you were waiting for the Autoart R35? Why the Kyosho version this time? MasterLaoDa: You have sharp eyes. I also did not notice the Nissan sticker in the rear of the box. Good guessing too on hokuan's hauls. REALCollector: No lah. Just catching up on you guys and all those missing years. Today, nothing came from the postman. |

quiksilve: Wah... Cannot tahan lah your R34 spam.
hokuan: Got the Super Elite as a "used" item. Well, there's some tearing to the outer box but the car is still intact onto the plate with all the tags and wires still on it. So it's still new. Just a little dusty. Hey, still no guesses yet as to what this mystery Super Elite is? REALCollector: Patience running out lah... Cannot tahan. The package ihas been close to 4 weeks already since it was last sent. Jasonist: What to do... Our local shops here are either non-existant or lack varienty. Have to pay through the nose lor... Wah you also spam your R34 pics? :droll: Whoa... Z tune some more. myke: Where are you lah? You still hiding in your cave? So no guesses for which Lambo bull I got which is not the Reventon or the Gallardo? It's an oldie. |

hokuan: The GTR looks very good. Seeing your pics, I'll probably go with Kyosho too and save some moolah. AA seems unattainable at the moment.
Anyway, the Lambo is the 1971 Miura Jota. myke: Is the Kyosho silver RHD R35 that difficult to find? Evilbay got what... Else, can always get from Autoart since all their R35 models are RHD. Hey, if you want to get the Kyosho, let me know and we can go international and perhaps we can share share shipping cost. This post has been edited by jchue73: Sep 30 2009, 05:02 PM |
