It's been so long since I visited this forum. Awesome models you guys have got there. What's with the sudden obsession with Subarus?

Thanks for the comments.
@Lkwanz: Loving the headlights, how is the overall build quality of the model? I've been eyeing it for awhile now, not sure if I should get it, need some opinions from the owners. @Royjepun: Haha, I wish I could but I love it too much. I might be getting it in the 1:43 scale but it's about twice the retail when it was first announced. If you're interested then maybe we can get it together. The price is about RM240 after conversion. |

Got these this week.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() On a side note, I'm sure just about everyone here knows that Autoart has added the Mclaren F1 to their lineup. Anyone noticed the price hike? It was originally priced at USD$209 and now it's USD$245. For that price let's hope the quality at is at least close to BBR or CMC but this being Autoart.... |

Thanks, I think they are trying to use Mclaren's legacy for their own benefits. I mean I'm still going to get it and so does every other Mclaren fan and the worst part is Autoart knows this so they're trying to milk us dry...

@Edwardc: The 1/12 Mclarens go for less that USD$300 on Ebay, I got mine for USD$280. But yea, the interior is basically painted plastic and the doors wouldn't stay up.

Autoart Reissued Porsche Carrera GT
The details are quite amazing on this model, one downside though, is that it feels really really light, it feels like 1/3 of the weight of a 1/18 Veyron. ![]() ![]() ![]() I didn't notice the word on the emblem until I took a photo of it. ![]() ![]() Nice and sophisticated engine compartment, the wire mesh is excellent. ![]() I love how they managed to replicate the wooden trim of the stick shift. ![]() Some very well done rims, even more so with the emblem. Overall an excellent model from Autoart, the weight issue aside, of course. |

Me too actually, but being so light must mean that more plastics are used to build the car, which is the main source of different tones of white and eventually the yellowing of the plastic parts. Heard a few stories from other collectors, white models do not age well so I didn't take the risk...

@Ikwanz: It's an awesome model..
@Jackygwh: Thanks, I prefer the white too.... Too bad though. Speaking of CMCs, here's mine. ![]() ![]() Photoetched, 3D-ish "Mclaren" ![]() The stubs!!! The one part CMC kinda failed. ![]() One of the best wheels I have seen, though some of the owners say that it's a bit too small... ![]() The exquisite interior, it has a distinct leather smell when the doors are opened. ![]() I like how CMC has managed to replicate the opening mechanism of the SLR perfectly. Unlike the old Maisto I have, this one opens up like the real thing and the engine detail is plain awesome. For USD$290, this is what value for money is all about It's on par with BBR's diecast 1/18s with excessive attention to detail. It's getting scarce though, especially the black ones, it took me 3 moths to hunt this one down. This post has been edited by Howard Tan: May 14 2010, 06:48 PM |

@Lkwanz: Ah, my bad, I'll keep it in mind, I'm really sorry
However, if you do decide to go for the carrera GT, don't be worried when the box comes in feeling like a feather. My heart skipped a beat when mine came, I thought it was empty This post has been edited by Howard Tan: May 14 2010, 07:22 PM |

@Lkwanz: Haha.. How much did you get yours for? I'm caught between the spider and the coupe. Personally I think the coupe looks much more aggressive but Ironman 2 gave me second thoughts...
@Michaelyii1988: You're from Sarawak? Whereabouts? I'm from Miri. I think the Maistos go for somewhere around the RM130-160 bracket. Good luck finding yours. Or you could go for an Autoart for around USD$99-ish (Lamborghini) on Ebay. The SLR I've never seen in toy shops in my hometown, aside from the "bling bling" Maisto Playerz SLRs. @Lkwanz: So the dealer editions don't have them? That's kinda sad. I'm curious, what's the difference between the two, besides the box that they come in?

@Lkwanz: Then I guess I'll be going for the hobby edition... Where did you get yours? I saw a few on Ebay for around USD$100... Thanks for your help
By the way, I might be getting a 1/18 BBR Enzo matt black with red stripes (HE180029) for USD299 including shipping to anywhere and can be under-declared upon request. Anybody wants in? It's quite a good deal so I thought I'd share it here. P.S. Valcrist, I remember you asking me about the BBR awhile ago, the seller has these for sale (prices include shipping to anywhere, can be under-declared for customs purposes) 1/18 BBR F430 Daytona Black Spider LE508 (HE180026) - USD$299 (Black with red soft top, challenge wheels and bucket seats) 1/18 BBR F430 Silver Spider LE509 (HE180024) - USD$279 (Silver with red soft top, normal wheels and seats) 1/18 BBR F430 Miami Vice (Grey) LE509 (HE180025) - USD$299 (Doesn't look that nice in all grey in my opinion, grey and grey soft top, challenge wheels and bucket seats) If you see this and are interested, let me know. @Lkwanz: Sucks that AA has to keep on increasing their prices and to top it off, their QC is getting worse
That said, other companies are dropping in standards as well, maybe it's the cost saving thing. I'm still studying in Australia, right now it's the perfect weather for diecast models, not so good for the humans though. |

@Valcrist: I'll ask the seller for you. The black one looks nice too I think, I just don't like the rims in black. But that's me. I'll let you know once I get a reply
@Khsj: The BMW looks really nice Now I'm torn between the R8 and the M3... but most probably R8 first due to the massive advertising/brain-washing from the Ironman movies. |
