from the URL you listed it looks pretty cool. Hopefully someone gets their mitts on one of those markers and puts up a review and more pix of it.

I saw something similar in JUSCO OneU last December - it was an X-Stream Hydro Pro Water Gun with Glob Balls. It retailled for RM 53.90 and was a dual function water gun, you could use it as a normal water gun or if you mixed the Glob Balls into the water container it could shoot Glob Balls. There is a website for Glob Balls but it doesn't say much apart from Glob Balls are Swedish technology! Not quite what the Battle Max markers are like but it was a kiddie-friendly paintball introduction

anyone knows of other Giant outlets that its been seen at? Living in Ampang - USJ and Melaka seem pretty far to drive out too. Do check out the URL which pcphobic listed out - it'll give you a great introduction to the markers

well guys - i was too poisoned by the pix and the website yesterday that i went out to the Giant Hypermarket in Batu Caves and got myself one this evening.

initial impression is that it is not a half decent marker. it needs to be pumped before you can fire it and boy do the foam-shots fly.

pro:
- safety features are good
- comes with a pretty comprehensive manual for both mask and marker
- good lightweight face mask
- nice "KATHUMP" sound when you fire it - much better than the nerf air guns and i think the accuracy of the foam-shots are going to be greater and over a longer distance
- comes with a promo dvd as well

cons:
- plasticky and not sure how hard the knocks it can take if you really had to play with it
- air pump feels a little flimsy when you pump it up but it does pack a punch
- no accessories - so that means you have only 9 foam-shots and these suckers can really fly so it will be a miracle if you don't lose any
- i was going to say price but for RM 149.00 i guess you get what you pay for considering a CS-6 Reccon Nerf Gun is about RM 99.00 and the Longshot is about RM 149.00
- the foam-shots are not loaded through the faux pellet top loader but from the barrel through a transparent tube-like magazine which holds 8 foam-shots only

like i said these are just initial impressions and i will probably have to wait till next weekend it to really have a go as i just opened it about 45 mins ago

i guess it depends what you want to use the marker for in the end. for me it is to introduce my 6 year old to paintball and get the hang of shooting a marker first and i guess in that respect it does its job

Guys, i think someone said it was too good to be true, well i think that really sums it up.

The Battle MAX Sceptor was launched in 2005 in the US by Franklin Sports thru its subsidiary - Rival Force and after not being able to get a response from them i shot off an email to Franklin Sports and this is their reply:

" Thank you for your inquiry.

The Battle Max product line has been discontinued and all warranties have expired.

Thank you,

Franklin Sports, Inc. "

so i guess you get what you buy. Giant must have bought tons of these discontinued sets to flog them off here. There are some accessories on ebay but i guess you will be hard pressed to get more of the foam-shot bullets
