U.S. gross domestic production (GDP) fell a not-as-bad-as-expected 1% in the second quarter

The advance reading on GDP, the most anticipated economic data of the week, indicated national production shrank by 1% in the second quarter, down from a 5.5% decrease the prior quarter. The decline was less severe than expected, but did little to comfort investors. Including this latest reading, GDP has fallen now for four straight quarters, marking the first time since government records started in 1947.

supposingly is a "not-so-good-news" because the GDP has dropped 1%

but market sees it as "the decline was less severe than expected", so it turn out to be a "good news", that's why market still afford to stay in green.
