Just how much fire resist do you need to withstand the fireball?

http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/MH3:_Armors
If you look at the armors, there's stats available like Fire -12 or +10. In most MMOs' resistance is quite crucial. As I'm a stats cruncher, these kinda things allure me For example, fighting Qurupeco:- If I was wearing Qurupeco armor +10 Fire vs Ludroth armor -15 Fire - would I be taking less or more damage? I apologise if this confuses you... but I'm that sort of gamer LOL This post has been edited by gaeryn: May 13 2010, 05:44 PM |

Welcome C Sagi!
Was fun last night as well! Thanks to Goku, YK, Pawaka & Madmoz. Looking for fellow hunter to "bodyguard" during Wyvern/Herbivore egg quest Almost had a heart attack delivering the last egg and Rath decides to land on me LOL Looking at which... 2 Close-range and 2 long-ranged hunters OR 3 close-range and 1 long-range might be an ideal set up. Kinda funny having 4 hunters rush the monster and fly away from each others attacks LOL. This post has been edited by gaeryn: May 14 2010, 10:06 AM |

QUOTE(juwels @ May 14 2010, 10:22 AM) You have caught, what I called the "MMO Syndrome".I have been playing everyday - weekdays 4-5 hours and weekends more. I have even pulled all nighters. Get enough rest and fluids. Have your favourite drink with you when you're playing. Know when to take breaks... call for 5-10min breaks to stretch your legs/washroom/wash your face. It will help Added on May 14, 2010, 10:37 amAny plans to do the Event quests this weekend? For those of us who are "collectors" This post has been edited by gaeryn: May 14 2010, 10:37 AM |

QUOTE(madmoz @ May 14 2010, 10:08 AM) On an unrelated note, I ate two fireballs last night. Both instant KO It is related. I'm still figuring the number crunching for this game.As far as I've researched so far, Gunners are supposed to have higher elemental resists to balance off their lesser defense. This is a damage chart for weapons: http://www.gamefaqs.com/wii/943655-monster...-tri/faqs/59207 But I still did prefer a more concrete source from a Japanese website. |

QUOTE(gaiachronicler @ May 14 2010, 12:18 PM) i thought it's minegarde website... never knew wiki branch off so vastly Certain monsters can hit you with a "status" effect, which is known as Blight.what's this skill use for? still doesn't understand after the explanation... Blight Res: Negates all elemental Blights (Fire, Water, Thunder, Ice, and Dragon). ???? One which I very well know is Gobul - when he sucks in water and if you're caught, he'll bite you. You will receive his Water Blight. |

Well it is good that we understand each others attacks.
I'm always trying to aim the head (Whether in front or the sides). But when I see an opening I do tend to run in and hammer it. If I see alot of small fries, I tend to swat them away. We all hate getting mobbed by thieving cats! SnS & Gunners are about mobility, other weapons is basically hit/dodge/run but lancers are different. I'm scared when lancers are at the monster and blocking... if I charge at the monster, my spinning attack will drain their stamina very quickly.
