DAY 1 - Tranformation is a journey, not jus the end

Today, it begins - the first day of what will probably be an entirely new relationship with food an entirely new relationship with your body. One of the most remarkable things about making a true commitment to transforming your weak, fat, flabby framed body into the strong, ripped, muscular version of your ideal self is the impact that this journey will have on your entire life. Everything that we do, say, or think in this world acts incorelation from the rest of our life situation like a ripple effect that moves outward into other areas of our life.

For example if you begin by making simple changes to your diet in an effort to eat healthier, more nutritious and muscle-building foods, this change will also effect: the way you feel (i.e. your emotional state), your daily energy levels (i.e. your vitality), your interaction with others (i.e. your relationships), your ability to work, focus, and get things done (i.e. your career) and so on.

Beyond that, people will take notice and see the improvement that this effect is having on your life, which could lead them to make more conscious dietary decisions themselves. In other words, you've become a positive example to others merely by making the decision to transform your body, and this decision is having an impact not only on your own life but in the lives of others.

When you make the commitment to transform your body, you are, in effect, taking a journey to radically transform every aspect of your life.

DAY 2 - No 1 RULE : ASK the WHY not the HOW

I always realise people do not suddenly want to transform their body for no reason. Often, the reason is not for such a noble cause. I had casually ask many whom i met at the gym - Why go through all this pain? Many came up with this answer - to look good naked and to attract the opposite sex... or in special cases - the same sex. shocking.gif

Don't laugh. brows.gif You know is true. drool.gif

Nonetheless, is "looking good naked" or "attracting hot babes" a solid enough reason to drag your butt to the gym and put yourself through intense, grueling workouts day in and day out?

Is it a good enough reason to make sacrifices, give up bad habits by totally changing your dietary habits and start eating healtly, body building food spread consistenly throughout the day?

Is it a compelling enough reason to get up after you have failed the first time, second and countless more times to retry again that are required to make a transformation of this magnitude?

Maybe it will be and maybe it won't be. To some it can be very motivating. Think about it. Is there anything wrong by wanting to attract the opposite sex. Come on, I mean who doesn't want to look good naked? Furthermore, who doesn't want to attract the attention of the women or men we find appealing? Most of us do. rclxm9.gif

To be honest, that's one of the reasons I started shreading all those excessive fats and it's still is. It is a normal, valid reason and it does motivate me, but it is not by any means my only reason. And if you want to be succesful in this, it shouldn't be your only reason either. You need a reason so big and powerful that it will propel you towards success. And once you got that reason, constantly remember it and you will have the force so powerful that no one can stop you from achieving your dreams but yourself. flex.gif

The number one secret to transform your body and thus your life is to have a burning desire to do so and in order to fuel this burning desire you have to have a strong enough reason, or list of reasons, as to why you are putting forth the effort to make this transformation. So today before you start your workout, ask yourself - WHY?

DAY 3: Facing Oneself, Facing Reality

Well, a lowyat forumer told me today that body building is not as easy as what people think. I totally agree with him. Don’t fool yourself into thinking this is easy and that you’ll add 50 pounds of muscle in a month or two or even six months without even trying. Thousands of people sign up for new gym memberships every day (people with better muscle-building genetics than you), and within less than four weeks they’ve already thrown in the towel, never to step foot in that gym again. Don’t be like them, set your self up to be successful.

I’m not trying to discourage you, I want you to succeed and to believe in yourself and to realize that you can and will transform your life, and you’ll do it by first transforming your body, one step at a time. Hence, this inspire me to discuss about today's topic. Today's topic would be one of the most important advice I can give. I'm going to be honest with all of you here. Finding a reason to transform your body is one thing but performing it is another story. Transforming your body or your life is not as easy as 1-2-3, I can tell you here confidently. It takes these 3P's - Purpose, Persistence, Passion.

Now, you might be wondering what if i don't have any of the 3P's characteristics. Don’t worry because that’s one of the wonders of weight training.

Let me tell you, as you:
(1.) Give yourself a PURPOSE to put away bad habits to get the body and life you truly desire
(2.) Improve your stamina and strength through PERSISTENCE training,
(3.) And PASSIONATE to make the necessary dietary changes required to nourish your body and build muscle, … you are indirectly slowly cultivating these values which will eventually become into your daily habits.

As you are disciplining your body and your mind through intense physical training, you are actually building a better you. This is what I mean when I say that transforming your body will transform your life. You are towards becoming a warrior!

Therefore, like a Warrior, you must be willing to face the harsh reality of your mission. You must be willing to face the truth about what your journey will demand of you. Remember, you’ve got to have forceful, convincing, and undeniable reasons, and a purpose for realizing this goal. I just want you to realize that you will be pushed and challenged every day. You will want to give in, give up, and run out on this goal before you have achieved it, but only the true warriors will be able to find the strength and courage within themselves to persevere and follow this path to where it leads… to become the one that lies deep within each and every one of us.

Hey, great posts here, keep it up. I wonder why hasn't anyone dropped a comment yet? Btw, this topic is a bit irrelevant to this subsection. It should be in H&F or BB section instead. But its up to you where you want to put it. If you think it'll garner more views here, go ahead. I believe this will be a beneficial read to almost everyone, rookies or not, so placing it in the most-viewed forum would be the best decision.

Keep it up!

Day 4 - No.2 RULE: Developing the Mindset of a Warrior

Now that you have been warned about what it takes for a successful transformation, it is time to cultivate the proper mindset. You might wonder what mindset has to do with transformation, fitness, health and weight loss, after all, isn't it about what you eat and how much you exercise? This is actually a little sad. A lot of people take this topic for granted, but in my opinion it is one of the most important aspects of becoming a success in whatever field you desire. Trust me, without a strong mindset of a warrior, you will easily fall back. I've been through it and it is my hope that others do not do the same.

I'll try to convey the message as simple as possible. Here how it goes. The mind leads the body! It is the steering that navigates the vehicle. If the mind is distracted and not focused... then your vehicle will probably crash, overturn, and you will die... along with your hopes and dreams of creating a muscular body.

You might have heard the Law of Attraction which says "People's thoughts (both conscious and unconscious) dictate the reality of their lives, whether or not they're aware of it or not". In other words, if u think hard enough for that something to be true, it will be a reality for you. Now, that's the mindset of a true warrior! If a warrior think hard enough about his mission, he will eventually complete his mission! Now, don't get me wrong here. Is not that just because you think of a brand new car, does not mean a car will magically appear right in front of you porch, although that would be totally awesome!

However, the burning desire for a car may lead you to working harder, to saving enough cash for down payment, to walking to the bank for a car loan, to picking up your new ride and then enjoying it. Now apply it to our transformation. Instead of a car, maybe you have a burning desire to create a muscular body. Now just because you have the thought of your new muscular body, the world will not just collapse and immediately transform your fat/skinny @ss into the form of Hercules. Please, this is not Alice in Wonderland. However, the continuous thought (burning desire) for that muscular body might lead you to join a gym. Perhaps, maybe at the new gym, you meet a friend or trainer who is able to share some important techniques and methods. According to the law of attraction, this meeting with your new friend/trainer wasn't just a mere coincidence. Instead, it is what you have been doing which actually attracted this individual into your life.

So, today, I want you to hold on to that thought and desire attentively and you'll be surprise even more people or events will begin to be drawn to you that will help you to arrive at your desired outcome. Today I want you to reset your mind. No more thinking contradicting thoughts, harboring negative thoughts or subconscious feelings of self-doubt, etc.) What I share with you today, in time you'll be able to see your desire body and your life in a way you can never imagine... but of course only if you believe.

So, Do You Truly Believe that YOU can Transform Your Body and Your Life?

First Confession

I didn't had the time to update because I was busy. Lots have happened. I am no longer working and now back to full time studying. Anyway, I started a blog for this titled Confessions from an Ex Fat Boy. Do support! The link is below.

So, in support for my new blog,I shall have a confession to make. Have you ever experience eating a delicious meal with your friend at a favorite dining place, and as you get up from the table, you find your belly popping out like a big air balloon. You then, only realize you have overeaten and feeling slightly guilty.

I confessed, that was what used to happen to me and it just happened again today. I met up with an old classmate and we had lunch at Black Canyon Coffee. I ordered beef spaghetti. It taste all right. But not worth for the amount you are paying. We catch up, reminiscing the good old days in high school. Not trying to show off, but I kind of like being compliment by him for my new found body. An hour later, we ordered tuna sandwiches and a bowl of salad. And before I realized it, I was already burping.

In the past, I used to be dreading the whole day, blaming myself for being so weak and useless. When I recall now,I used to sabotage myself with words like: “I am such a loser”, “I am freaking hopeless", "I will never be thin" and many other negative statements. If you find yourself doing the same thing, STOP IT right now! You gain nothing for blaming yourself.

So what should you do the next time you overeat?

This is what I usually do. Every time a negative situation occur, I will come up with a way in which that could be perceived as a positive. For example, in this case, I overate with my friend, I might respond "at least now I can tell you how's the food there"

The purpose here is not to convince yourself to be happy about something you're not. but rather to recognize and increase your capacity to find the positive in the midst of a challenge. Now, try practicing this...

1. Think of something you are not happy about in your weight loss journey.
2. Now come up with as many ways it could be perceived as a good thing.

Remember, to achieve a positive weight loss, start embracing the positive ![cool.gif
