can anyone show me review of edifier R501 MKii?
really doubt , afraid it is overated ,considering it's only rm380
*
how could it be overrated?.. we got alot of live testimonial here.. i dun trust web review very much because some of it probably paid for that.
If i'm not mistaken (correct me), r501 mkII only available in malaysia.. probably very hard to find any review on this.
the best is to trust ur own judgement.

just got mine too from the garage sales. i dun know why they made this as a multimedia speaker. found out that i have to be at least 1 meter from it to enjoy the sound, esp the bass. Superb smooth bass. Not the best, but it is still good.
People, don't place this speaker at the side of your monitor and playing the music while using the pc, it'll sound flat and boring.

Would you mind posting a picture of your setup?
Since you've found a good way of setting up the speaker positioning for better listening, would you kindly share with all of us here?

Thanks. biggrin.gif
*
i actually place it like any typical multimedia pc ie beside my monitor. I only reposition myself tongue.gif .
No space to place that huge speaker yet and tak sempat, bcos i just got it yesterday. But for now i will just listen to music on s4.1 or headphone if i'm using the PC and use t3 if i'm not eg. while on bed. That's the better way to enjoy a good music i guess laugh.gif

Shin, i'm put side of my lcd monitor. Isn't must put away from it? Here my poor setup... sweat.gif
*
you can put it there as long there are some safe distance from ur head. wink.gif they're loud after all .. safety first tongue.gif .. like shockk said .. the distance will affect the soundstage on x, y and z axis

here is my setup

latest finding:

after some testing i was not satisfied with the speaker because at some level the sound is like uncontrolled especially on the mid-bass.

found out the table is the culprit. It's made from a weak structure (saw-dust?) and amplifying the resonance thus made the sound abit chaotic. For now i just put a pair of towels underneath the speakers and it improve the sound drasticly (the same towel on my sub in the pic; which i use to rest my leg sweat.gif). The sound is better now even if I am closer to them.

Any idea how to overcome this problem?.. I dun want to change the table to solid wood because it'll be troublesome if i have to move to other house. The towels cannot be a permanent solution because they're not stable.

just try it, it's solid stable. It really need some extra force to nudge it down.

Never thought I was going to be one of those odd balls who disagree with others. I'm not a big fan of bass. I luv speaker that produce good sound quality but this speaker fall way short of my expectation. I would rather save my money and buy a better speaker.
....
*
haha no wonder lot of user disagree with you, your s4.1 is not the same as the others. You can't generalize that the speaker is bad because yours is broken. Fix it first.
