i'm looking for speakers in the RM700 range.

Doesn't matter 4.1 or 2.1. The most important is sound quality for music.

Is the s4.1 a good choice ? or is there something newer and better now?

regarding the s4.1s, would it be better to leave the bass and treble of the unit in neutral position or not?

and would it be better to leave the winamp equaliser neutral or also alter it?

i know it's more of personal preference, but i'd like to hear the s4.1 at it's best before starting to tweak.
