Now I'm all confused. Can you simplify all that for me?
Sure. Here's a three-line table to give you an idea where typical engine oils are used:
Oil type Typically used in....
5W-30 Cooler climates, like Sweden or Canada
10W-40 Temperate climates, like England
15W-50 Hot climates, like Italy, Spain, Egypt
n wut happen if we use 5w10 for wira in msia????
Added on August 10, 2009, 4:03 amc the ear of the car lor...all 10 yrs n above shud be carbie.
lol, that carbible site i also read when i wanna service my car .. haha
for our wira, try use semi-syn ... no use going for fully since the proton engine is not a performance engine also ...
about the 3 line table above,
5W-30 Cooler climates, like Sweden or Canada << note the front part 5W, means this oil can withstand colder temp compared to others ... but in malaysia, throw the front part and concentrate more on the viscosity of 30,40,50 ...
5w10 is too thin, normally ppl just use for engine flushing, pour in engine with old filter .. start and let idle for 15mins then drain and put in new oil ...
since u just overhauled maybe u can try those semi-syn 10w40 lubricants but watch out for oil evaporation or oil leakage (might be too thin for ur carbie) ...
about changing engine lubricants, u can change according to the chart (mineral -> semi-syn -> fully syn) becoz semi-syn contains both mineral and syn oils, so if u previously using mineral, there is no need to do engine flush and u can just straight pour in the new oil + change oil filter ...
Do not go down the chart (fully > semi > mineral)...

Morning guys

I have few problems on my Wira. Don't know whether it is major or not, but I can't sit still. I just wanna know what are the problems, and budget to repair. Will directly go for check up end of month.
1. Sometimes while driving, my brake has this sound like 'woooonnnggg'. I'm just worried if brake pad worn out, it makan my disc. But few months back, I checked twice at different workshop and they all said still ok. I don't know.
2. Starting engine, sometimes one twist and nothing happen. Next one then only the engine starts. Battery ?
3. Sometimes my car goes jerking when reversing. Few times engine went dead while reverse parking due to too much jerking, especially when I don't press any brake or gas. When I press gas, it is ok reverse smoothly. I've changed spark plug about 4 months before ? Is it spark plug again, or spark cable as my friend said it might be so ?
Wira auto FYI. Thanks if anyone can help this out.
morning afosz,
1.

u washed ur car? does this sound always occur? or just after a car wash? .. if after a car wash means its normal, ur calipers r wet therefore when u release the handbrake and move there will be a 'groog' or some similiar sound ...
but if u r moving and this sound occurs when u normal brake then better go check up liao ...
2. yea, although i am not very sure but mostly will be ur batts .... how old is it? better check on it asap ....
3. ur ride is carbie or injuection? ... u got service ur TB b4? clean the internals? ... not very sure though ...

and i don think its related to the cables but do check the cables urself, coz the cables r very durable not easy to spoil ...
