technically, its all about efficiency. programmers usually try to make their codes more efficient to achieve the same thing or even more. so it is possible. smile.gif

You are assuming it wasnt optimise.... While i am assuming that it is...

Given choice management will normally favor more feature rather than revisiting code and achieving the same thing

Nokia 5800XM - Fast Menu & Gallery Tweak

After this configuration has the phone a very quick menu.

(Set the current as 01 May 2005)

The first two tasks must be created.
This is done with the following menu:
>Options -> New entry -> Task

Create the following two tasks in the following order:

1.Task
* Subject: Speed
* Due Date: 04.08.2005
* Priority: High

2.Task
* Subject: Qoukie
* Due Date: 04.08.2005
* Priority: Low

Confirm with OK / DONE on both tasks. Do not close the Calendar yet !

Now choose the task of view on the following menu:
*Options -> Task view

Set Speed as the first sorting, followed by Qoukie menu is done:
*Options -> Done

You can now close the calendar and the current date back correctly. From now should speed the navigation menu significantly increase. Also, the gallery should now be a performance boost get. After a reboot or reset the phone, the effect is lost.After the switch, everything has to be repeated.

Works on most s60 Devices.

Not really. Just do the 3 keys format and everything back to stock. It's just softmod. And lets keep discussion of hacking and HelloOX v2 to PM or Google it  tongue.gif
*
why?? warez is illegal to discuss here...

but hacking phone firmware is not illegal as helloOX2 as far as i know is a freeware.

Ah ..

My screenshot:

user posted image

Managed to get 54MB RAM .. previously was 48MB
*
Yup... i got around 54mb too on fresh restart...

This is 54Mb is WITH handy shell and mykeylock running.

Max i got is 57Mb

If TS would be so kind.. maybe he can pin this up on FP base on my finding...

Disable Theme Effect = save 4-5mb
Change Front Screen to Basic = save 4-5mb
Close all software on startup = save 4-5mb

i would suspect certain of you mp3 files contain virus and corrupted your memory card, i always back up my memory card before i add any new software or songs or movie so if corrupted you just need to reformat the card and copy back all the content to your card.
*
Virus wink.gif And you say its a virus base on ??

Virus? mmmm.... I dont think symbian (starting from S60V3) very easy to get virus as long as you didnt hack your phone. Virus developer need to sign their program with symbian... I dont think this will pass symbian

Thats why I think antivirus for our tube not necessary (unless you hack your phone!)
*
err... but now u can sign ur own program wor hmm.gif

Nope, just like normal format but reset the cluster size back to default in case u changed it. Try to format the card using Panasonic SD format tool.
*
erm... im not so techy... but wut u meant when u say reset back the cluster size?

All the files inside are not required by the phone to operate rite? Say if i wan to resintall a program in the sd card which is totall empty n newly formated. The phone will just recreate all the necessary files n folders?

"The FAT file system used by DOS and Windows divides all of the file data on the hard disk into clusters comprised of multiple sectors. A cluster is normally between 2 kiB and 32 kiB in size, in powers of two, containing between 4 and 64 sectors of user data. This is done to make managing the location of data easier. "

But ignore it if u never changed it before.

When u reformat the card, it will be totally blank. Once u insert the card into the phone, all the necessary folders will be created (Backup, Music, Pictures, System, etc)
*
Oh.. thanks.. will keep this in mind for my next round of fresh install.

QUOTE(nmb3rs @ Aug 6 2009, 06:51 PM)
fyi, formatting can also b done directly using ur tube.

Applications > File Manager > E: Memory Card > Options > Memory Card Options > Format

Yea i know.. but some how some of the members here advice to do it thru the pc instead... i hav no idea why laugh.gif

well, i'm not talking about virus created to attack on our tube s60 system, i'm talking about mp3 file with virus that might corrupt the content in your memory card, that's all.....

i would assume that WhitE LighteR problem occurs after transfering new mp3 files into her memory card.

s60 no need antivurus as only virus that you will get is random file transfer using bluetooth when you are in public area, if you accept any unknown file transfer then you phone s60 system might be corrupted, that's why my bluetooth is always hidden mode.
*
Hmm... u might hav a point as i transfered a new sms tone tht day...

then again i also transfer a bunch of patch n programs inside laugh.gif
