I am looking for a PT to help me train in the condo gym where I live - it's in the Mont Kiara/Desa Sri Hartamas area. Ideally Mon, Wed, Fridays 630am-730am or approximately thereabouts. Or just Tuesdays & Thursdays.

I used to have a PT but he proved to be unreliable in turning up on time and was just too busy pushing the sales of supplements.

I am looking to lose weight, tone up muscles, improve flexibility and not really to bulk up.

PM me pls with your charges.

For trainers out there, you can create a profile/portfolio on this website> Hero Solo. it should be an online identity of you as a trainer and will help interested people to easily find you there.

The website will be launched in few weeks.

There are a few i remember. One is a huge Malay guy, and one chinese uncle. I saw them in the gym at simpang kuala. Can't quite remember the name of the gym, should be Rush Fitness, located opposite Nasmir Nasi Kandar and next to Maybank.

At the end of the day, fitness trainer is still an occupation, and what's most important (to many) is one's paycheck at the end of the month.

That's not to say that all fitness trainers out there are bad, they're mostly stigmatized thanks to a bunch of really f***ed up ones.

Once, i started training about the same time a fitness trainer started training a client, and i could've sworn that half of the time, he's looking at his phone, while he put his client into sets lasting about 1 minute.

For those who want to sign up for long-term, multiple session PTs (which is mostly the only choice offered by large scale commercial gyms), at least be objective and ask YOURSELF: Am i ready to be responsible in pursuit of the fitness results i want.

Know that at the end of the day, the most a fitness trainer can provide is 3 our of 168 hours of our lives in a week; we have the other 165 hours to screw things up.

(#ShamelessPlugIn: Anyway, anyone who's interested in quality PT sessions can PM me tongue.gif)

Just like any kind of services, there are good and bad one. My first experience was at Celebrity Fitness, they were doing aggressive sales, the trainer allowed 3 of us to train together with the price of 1 person. However, the trainer was a nice guy and i think he was just trying to make some money and i believe Celebrity Fitness sucked up big part of the commission.

Someone told me the same thing. Recently, a personal instructor at one of the major gyms offered me his service, or at least he seemed to be very committed in his work. I was thinking of signing up for 30 sessions straight, but my friend mentioned to me that what usually happens is that the instructor teaches you for 2-3 sessions, and the rest of the sessions is just him standing there and doing minor spotting for the client.

How true is this?

Hey,

Are you still looking for a trainer? My friend Krystina hired a trainer through this new startup called kaodim.com. She said she just had to answer a few questions about her fitness goals, time, what she wanted to achieve etc and then personal trainers responded with a personalised quotation. She could view the different PTs profiles, compare their prices etc. pretty cool.

She hired some celebrity trainer from a well known gym in bangsar who does pre-natal fitness. Maybe you can find your trainer there? Seems like they've got a few good ones on their platform.

-Jackson

I had a trainer like that before, Took up 30 sessions with her, Initially was good. After signed up she would be playing with her phone most of the time.
When I was doing cardio she would wander back to the PT desk to play with her phone. :/
