The reason I bought this laptop is for work purpose... Weird blink.gif ...
Nice spec actually... Been eyeing this laptop early this year...
Ok la for the price less than RM5000... rclxms.gif
including freebies: gaming mouse and MSI design laptop bag..
For me.. is worth the investment... biggrin.gif

The Spec:
MSI GT725 | C2D P8600 | 500GB | ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB GDDR3

Main drawback for this laptop... Heavy... 3.5kg... sweat.gif

How's the quality like?

Solid?
*
The build... better than Acer... (no offence guys... this is my opinion)...
I found out ok... giving scale - I will rate 8/10...

Weird about MSI - Malaysia will always left out from their market radar... sweat.gif

My point is that before buying this model, MSI have already begin promoting GT729..
Did ask the seller about this latest model but it seem they (seller) doesn't know that this new model exist...

rclxms.gif Hahaa.... tongue.gif

Mine is covered with carbon fibre....

Which mean --> it's lighter than Alienware...
But for hardware and performance wise... Alienware is still the king.. flex.gif

Hopefully my next pc will be Alienware... If cannot ALIANWARE also can... laugh.gif

That's the prob. And in terms of warranty claims, it will be a bit tough.

Thank god mine did not give me any major problems.

Running solid after 2 years of rough usage.
*
Yup.. I agree with you... warranty will me the major issue..
From what I know... MSI Malaysia have setup their Service Center for Laptop...

Based on the brochure that I got from PC Fair...

or might be otherwise rclxub.gif

Ericmaxman... just want to know.. do MSI Malaysia offer any extended warranty package?

Wow your laptop is quite tough... My previous laptop (Acer) kong every year...

Bought in 2005... and every year will return to service centre for repair..

cry.gif got bad model... I think...

They have a Laptop Service Center already?

Here's a list I found ->

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

As for the extended warranty period, AFAIK, MSI Malaysia does not offer that. I could be wrong.

wink.gif

added -> what model was ur acer? my friend has a 5000-series acer he bought 4 years ago. still running strong till today..
*
Thanks for the list..

About the previous laptop it was Acer Aspire 1692WLMi... icon_rolleyes.gif

Help me a lot during my Uni days...

From programming to gaming and even torrent.. Quite rough use...
Most probably or other factor that contribute the failure of my laptop...
Now I inherit my old laptop to my nephew... smile.gif

Better make backup fast... If your harddisk getting hot around 50c it's the sign of HD near failure...
(Based on my exprience.. others might differ)

My personal advice change before it fails... unsure.gif

In lowyat corner GT725 quoted RM4999
GT729 haven't hit Malaysia yet but Singapore quoted RM 6k++.
So far only saw 1 review saying the fan problem. but the GT725 is the benchmark/comparison for all the high-end graphic laptop.
