QUOTE(Triangels @ May 5 2011, 04:00 PM) how good are GTX485m sli and 6970m Crossfire ? i am about to order a x7200 np7280, but i am not sure yet, weather is that worth to pay that much more for 485m sli or is it better i stay with the killing performance of 6970m crossfire, well both of these cards are performing equally to a gtx570 i guess. The difference is very little, in fact in some games, HD6970M crossfire perform better, and HD6970M is getting better from new driver release from AMD.It is not worth the huge price difference imho. If I am not mistaken, GTX485M also has issue with 3D support, so no points on getting it imho, unless you have lots of money to burn. The review is here if you want something to refer to. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-GeForc...CF.51253.0.html This post has been edited by hidz7: May 5 2011, 11:17 PM |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ May 7 2011, 02:34 PM) Actually cannot 100% trust 3D Mark 06 scores because it is also quite CPU dependant. I'd prefer to see the "actual" GPU performance hehe That's why I prefer 3Dmark Vantage, and look for its GPU score, it is more reliable. Like the GT550m according the the website scores about 8k+ while my HD4670 is only around 6k+ Pair up my HD4670 with a i7 620qm for example, would yield a higher score of 7k+ Well, according to vantage, the GT550M scored 1000+ higher compared to HD4670, that I think is quite considerable upgrade. |

Agreed, multi GPU setup usually will face microstutter, flickering etc. if the games/drivers are not really well optimized.
But, for games that does not utilize multi GPU at all, yeah no improvement at all, but usually the game will get updates/patches in the future that support multi GPU setup. |

QUOTE(Spiritviper @ Jul 12 2011, 08:07 AM) can already be configured on the M17x R3 and M18x. AMD claims the GPU to be the most powerful notebook gpu, let's see how it goes head to head with GTX580M. |

QUOTE(Hydraulic @ Aug 13 2011, 10:10 AM) nt using laptop cooler but in AC room... i think need to buy cooler... 78 is considered quite ok, but there is no harm if you want to invest in a laptop cooler.and btw guys, when u all do benchmarks for 3dmark06, what reso u all choose? 1280x768? or the max reso ur monitor support? Regarding the default resolution, I think it depends largely on your monitor resolution, if you have a FHD monitor, then 3Dmark06 will default at 1280x1024, for lower res screen for example 1366x768, I think it will be at 1280x768, but of course if you buy the software you can change the settings. |
