actually its more of the first reason. layman dun want/need to overclock. so they must know the base performance of the card.

Guess M'sia really needs to revise its approach on the importance of english language. It is really sad to see the sentence above poping out in forums where youngsters nowaday can't even type a proper full sentence.
*
why almost all your reply is kinda this style? always wanted to find a point to create a provocation. just take it easy, bro. i know your English is better than the rest of us, but it is really necessary to reply like that? i do think its better if you corrected putochip123 rather than smashing him and just leave his uncorrected sentence.
everyone is learning from time to time.
and nobody perfect, if you forgot that fact.

The AW GTX 260M seem to be much faster compare to Asus G51 . One running at 1920x1080 and another at 1280x 720 , but yet AW score higher. Could the benefit come from i7 720QM or slightly higher clock GTX 260?

i7 720QM

bcoz i7 not good for gaming ...
the CPU score for i7 is lower than the core 2 quad ^.^
since i7 just min clock with 1.6-1.8 GHz hardly to prawn those ghz higher than it ! do you think in 3Dmark06 i7 will HT to one core only ??
a new processor always performance low ...
core 2 duo bcome core 2 quad ^.^
i7 Ht bcome what later ?? ...
*
i5 maybe? i7 without HT?
by the way, what is the different between i5 and Quad?

i5 is basically the same as i7, also a Clarksfield, juz that HTT has been disabled...

main difference with a C2Q would be new architecture (with SSE4.2 as well), shared L3 cache, and integrated memory controller...

i see. thank you nod.gif

ya planning to get a GTX260M Sli for my another M17x
u wanna buy? im thinking of buying 2 5870 for cross fire too, but what i know from Dell Engineer, they they might not do a bios revision for a new GC.
But somehow they are going to have a new model for M17x with Core i7. this doesnt sounds good. Even 5870 witht MXM3.0B is matched with Ccurrently M17x, but bios is not compactible to the GC. anyway, when it is available for M17x, i sure will grab for upgrade.
*
please do inform us (or at least me!) about this info in the future.
i am looking forward to own 5870 in CF configuration too laugh.gif

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Dec 22 2009, 01:36 PM)
but at least the arrandale are higher clocked. So it wont be bottlenecks to other parts biggrin.gif
*
no matter how high is the clock, if it related to the HT, no thank you.
personally, i already lose trust in all those logical or hyperthreading thingy.
at least in term of gaming.

since long time can change already, except the one using SU, SP series, those are soldered to the mobo.
open the case, unlock the socket and exchange the processor, then lock it back~

as for gpu, 99% notebook in market can't change, except those using mxm slot then can change, even that need to check bios compatibility and etc...

well, the point is cpu and gpu part can be expensive and expecially here, hard to find it~
*
QUOTE(Fantasia @ Dec 23 2009, 05:46 PM)
1 more point, upgrade ur processor and gpu might void ur warranty ^^
*
another point - temperature emitted from new GPU / CPU might be higher than default due to architecture or incorrect step during upgrading, which will lead to burn of mobo.

just refer here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/863032

@Dackson : why COD MW1, not MW2?

@ Kelvin_hata : why does it mention there that you have 10.0GB but you'd just install 2x4GB?
