but 64bit, won't it cause a bottleneck? then performance still so high?

the GPU itself is clocked pretty high... plus the better architecture and the use of DDR3/GDDR3... i think it's possible...

ve seen review of Acer 5739 with GT 240M DDR3... pretty disappointing i ve to say...

3D Mark 06 is only abt 5.8k... much lower than a HD4650 DDR3, and same lvl as 9600M GT GDDR3...

hm.... isn't 9600m GT = G130M? why GT240m on par?

Added on August 17, 2009, 10:06 pmwhat's the proc on the Acer 5739?

IMO GT240M just a 40nm version 9600MGT, while GT130M is 55nm version
that explain why performance similar to 9600MGT

it's on notebookcheck... the test sample uses P7350 (2GHz)

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Hands-On-Acer...ew.18838.0.html

but iirc, Acer 5935's GT 130M DDR2 also scores abt the same...

GT 230M and GT 240M are more like 9700M GTS (256-bit though) in 40nm...

so Nvidia position them to be between GT 130M and 9700M GTS in terms of performance...

and yup, 9600M GT, 9650M GT and 9700M GT successor are GT 120M and GT 130M, exact same spec but in 55nm... but with OEMs preference for DDR2, the 2 GPU can hardly shine...
