yup its quite alright... itll run most recent games at medium to high settings @1080p .. as long as u dont intend to run games with ultra settings n ultra textures, ull be fine

id suggest u to go youtube some video gameplays of the 560m128bit.. search for g53sx or g74sx-bbk

these two models are the only ones using the 560m128bit

cheers cool.gif

guys, do you think GT 540 M is a good GPU for laptop? kinda low on budget so I ended up buying it.. I overclocked it though to make it even faster.. do you think that is a good option? i'm looking for a good cooling pad to avoid overheating

GT540M is considered mid-range. Good enough for the next 2 years if high fidelity gaming is not your thing.

Hi.

Between NV GT540M and AMD 6730M, which one is more stable / reliable / less heat and noise?

I am considering Asus laptop. Not sure which GPU to choose. Been searching info online. NV GT540M performance is not too poor compare to AMD 6730M and cheaper. However there are people complaining regarding Optimus.

Apparently NV GT540M consume more power than AMD 6730M. Does it means that NV GT540M will be hotter compare to AMD 6730M?

Hope that all Sifu can guide me.

Thanks.

guys i need some insights here. do latest gen mobile gpu is long lasting as integrated intel GPU?

here's my case, i used to own dell vostro 1400 equipped with nvidia gs 8400m. its been good for 4 years until the gc fried cause of the faulty GPU. at that time many model are affected. the one i remember the most is HP tx100 model if im not mistaken. if any of you in a laptop repair line you might aware of this case. gpu chipset prob

im planning to buy a new laptop with intel hd 3000 gc, shud be good enough as im not gamin. but the price with dedicated graphic doesn't differ much

so shud i take intel hd3000 or ones with dedicated gc? factor that shud count in, heat issues, power consumption etc

maybe u can consider a laptop tat runs on nvidia Optimus ? lets u switch between intel n nvidia gpu..

and yes, if a laptop tat runs purely on dedicated gpu will drain battery faster and more hotter...

its quite ok if ur budget is low... the 6730m is abit better than 540m is most games, but not all.. if u can get a laptop with 6730m at the same budget, it would be a better choice.

Hi. regarding 6730m, according to website, it is basically similar to 5730m (the architecture a bit different, Turks and Redwood)

I found one review of Asus laptop with both NV GT540m and AMD 5730m.

They run both laptop using Furmark for one hour. They use software to tell the CPU, GPU and HDD temperature. Besides they also use Fluke heat camera to measure the keyboard temperature.

Software result:
GPU = NV GT540m / AMD 5730m
CPU Temp : 75C / 67C
GPU Temp : 87C / 55C
HDD Temp : 30C / 38C

Apparently the software result tell us AMD 5730m has lower temperature.

However using the Fluke heat camera to measure the heat at the keyboard, it shows that the laptop with 5730m has the heat more "concentrated" compare to GT540m at the keyboard. Which also means user will feel more heat at the keyboard with 5730m.

In this case, which one will be better and last longer? 5730m? (sacrifice user experience)?

^ from the heat camera of A40 with 5730, looks like there is no hot air blowing out unlike the image in A43. It's like the heat was trapped inside. The cooling fan not running?

Good finding. It proves that AMD really run cooler than nVidia. The difference is huge, 87C vs 55C... *phew*
