Hard to say, here's a comparison:

http://www.behardware.com/news/11362/cebit...asus-g74sx.html

Seems like the memory bandwidth is smaller now and it has less ROP but compensates for it with extra clock speed and shader units.

Yup...

Based on notebookcheck result of the Asus G74SX in 3Dmark06 is about 13919, which is quite close to a GTX 460M... hmm.gif

We will just have to wait and see then...

Problem with the G74SX demo unit is that it uses a 'crippled' GTX560M with a smaller memory bandwidth and VRAM size.

Of course HD6770M is way better than GT550M, by the way, HD6770M is on par with GT555M.

how good are GTX485m sli and 6970m Crossfire ? i am about to order a x7200 np7280, but i am not sure yet, weather is that worth to pay that much more for 485m sli or is it better i stay with the killing performance of 6970m crossfire, well both of these cards are performing equally to a gtx570 i guess.

Difference is not that much, the HD6970M CrossFire is more worth it.

Check it out, sitting pretty at positions no. 1 and 2.

The difference is very little, in fact in some games, HD6970M crossfire perform better, and HD6970M is getting better from new driver release from AMD.
It is not worth the huge price difference imho.
If I am not mistaken, GTX485M also has issue with 3D support, so no points on getting it imho, unless you have lots of money to burn. smile.gif
The review is here if you want something to refer to.

Quite a noticeable difference between the two.

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html

Thinking of upgrading to something with a GT550M?

Actually cannot 100% trust 3D Mark 06 scores because it is also quite CPU dependant. I'd prefer to see the "actual" GPU performance hehe

Like the GT550m according the the website scores about 8k+ while my HD4670 is only around 6k+ Pair up my HD4670 with a i7 620qm for example, would yield a higher score of 7k+

That's why I prefer 3Dmark Vantage, and look for its GPU score, it is more reliable. smile.gif
Well, according to vantage, the GT550M scored 1000+ higher compared to HD4670, that I think is quite considerable upgrade.

Whoops, didn't select Vantage over there. tongue.gif

But yeah, Vantage is a more accurate measure for GPU performance. Then the alternative would be the gaming benchmarks.

ATI HD 5650 is better. Refer here for more details: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html
As mentioned, the ATI HD5650 in the Toshiba is downclocked, but still better than the GT520M nod.gif

Oh ya, there's no GPU switching in the Toshiba as well nod.gif
