Let me describe my situation first.
I was wearing tracheostomy(google plz) for more than one year. This stuff actually i dun know what its main purpose. But normally, patient will take out this 3 months after operation. ( I had my head operation in JBGH)
In my case, i was failed to wear off this tracheostomy. Once I take it out, i was unable to breath  

OK, since Dr in GH also dun know wat problem is, my dad decide to seek consultation in Pantai Melaka.
I strongly recommend this Dr (Dr. Ilangovan Lakshmanan) . He is a nice man and most important is his consultation fee is extremely cheap !!! Scope procedure + medicine only RM85!!! But very sad, he is no experience in this kind of operation. So he refer me to another Dr in Pantai KL

Well, this dr is able to do my case. He told me that only few Drs are experience in this such operation.
The estimate cost is RM50K     
OK, no choice. I trust his saying" ei, bukan semua dr tau buat operation macam ini"
Operation will be do 1 weeks later.

1 day before I masuk Wad, his nurse called me and told me need to postpone the operation until further notice because dr's bro passed away in foreign country.

3 weeks passed, still no news fr hospital. My dad start to feel "pekcek" ady. Both of us keep calling Pantai, but the answer we get always "dr akan balik esok / dr akan masuk minggu depan " WTF
But something i need to say is pantai charged extremely high. consultation + MRI = 500+850

My dad and I feel dissapointed and very angry also. We decide to find another dr.
So i start searching info here and there, and finally i get over here.
Many LYN member introduce DrKxxx.
So I went for a try 2 weeks b4 CNY

Another nightmare began.
After he looked at my MRI, he told me that he cant do this operation too. I am prepared with this answer bcuz i still believe what the previous dr told me " ei, bukan semua dr tau buat operation macam ini"   
The more terrible is he asked me better stay steady with the tracheostomy. Means the he asked not to do anything with that stuff. Just wear it WHOLE LIFE !! WTF, I am jz 20!!! He keep talking some evidence to make me trust him like "even in US also few dr in experience in this" , "after u take out the tracheostomy u might unable to voice" , "the operation always need to few times, each times with50~60K, finally u will bankcrupt but problem cant solved" LOL. That time, i really scared. Tears in eyes . haha
But luckily he introduced me Prof Sani of UKMSC.

I strooooooooongly recommend Prof Sani.
He is nice and humour, willing to explain a lot to patient, u will very relax while talking with him.
After doing scope procedure, I take out the MRI report to him. He told me this report is useless lah, he even didn't look 1 eye at the report ( WTF wat a waste with RM850 !!!)
He keep telling me my case is a small operation even his master student could handle it by laser. Not enuf 10 mins, he already arranged the time for operation. Finally my operation done last monday.

As mentioned above, the estimated cost is 50K right?
But i only spent RM 4200 in UKMSC !!! WTF

The room rates also cheaper thn other private. Only RM165 for single room !!! air-cond and TV ready. Shared bathroom. SO i suggest that next time should go to hospital like UKMSC/UMSC because there are equiped with modern apparatus  
Finally finish my long long story with my poor poor english.
This jz a sharing, doesn't mean to defame /criticize any doctor/ hospital.

Brought my 17 wk pregnant wife to see mr Gan tong née at Sunway hospital. She is suffering daily headache and sinus pain.

During the first visit she was given antibiotics and some nasal spray for a week as he said that there are some sinus infection. During that week, she was fine for about 3 days and then all the symptoms came back. After a week, brought her back to mr Gan tong née again as she is still having the same issue. He then gave her Rhinocort Aqua nasal spray and ask her to use daily for two weeks. Today as I'm writing this, she is on that nasal spray for 1 week now and she is still suffering from headache and sinus pain.

Overall mr gan tong nee is a friendly and nice doctor but am not sure about his treatment. From what i read above, it seems that he likes to recommend his patients to do operation and at most time from what i read above, doesn't treat the problem.

sigh.... Heart Pain,  seeing my wife still suffering everyday. I tried all sorts of other remedies, bought a sharp plasmacluster ion generator, using tea tree oil, switch off air conditioner, humidify that room and still no cure or relief. Sigh...She is now trying to use probiotics in her neti pot as well. 2 days now... Hope this remedies recommended by some sufferer online will cure her.. Might bring her to seek for second opinion if she doesn't feel better in the next few days... Maybe will try dr Khor at Jalan Pudu..

Hey people, can you believe that after I had gone for the sinusitis surgery and 7 to 8 times of hospital referral after the surgery, but until today, the problems of my sinusitis still remaining at least 95%...!!! Is this sound very ridiculous??

I was facing a very serious nose problem since so many years ago. One day, I found that I have had enough for this, because of my life and works were really been effected by this problem, so I decided to go to see the specialist, then I came to this so-called “ENT specialist” DR ONG CHUN CHIANG clinic.

This doctor said I got a very serious sinusitis and suggested me gone for the surgery. I was agreed. However, he never done the CT scans for me before the surgery. So without the CT scan, how can he clean up the secretions inside of my nasal cavity correctly??

A week after the surgery, I went back for hospital referral, some questions I asked and the answer was given by him were really make me frustrated, and he keep giving (actually I need to pay) me the medicine, even though I have not finished yet. Every time I went back to hospital referral, I have to pay RM180 to RM200 that was not cheap, ok??!!

When I found that was something with this so called “Specialist doctor”,  I went to see  another 2 ENT specialist doctor , after talking with them, and done the CT scans by of  them, it  made me more confident in believing that it was really something wrong with the 1st “specialist doctor”.!! I was really get shocked after seeing and listened from the doctor about my result of CT scans.

don go to dr gan anymore. yes, he is nice and friendly but he can be very very pushy when wanna persuade people to go for FESS. he immediately told me to sign a form to book appointment without giving me time to consider.

never go back since then.

till now, i'm still looking for a good ENT. called dr khor's clinic to find out opening hours, but the nurses very fierce =_=

also went to Dr Bala in Tropicana....erm....so so only.

Tey Dr khor at jalan pudu,  just do a walk in no problem. 

Don't need to bother with the nurses,  it's the doctor who's gonna treat u not them

I have spent over 10K with Dr Gan and my problem not fixed.
Try to look for Dr Megat@ColumbiaAsia Puchong. He is far better than Dr Gan for my case.

I brought my wife to see Dr Khor at Jalan Pudu, last Friday. It was quite expensive as well. I paid lesser at Sunway Medical Center with branded medication.

Dr Khor gave my wife some unknown drops and some cream in his own packaging. No idea what medication he gave to my pregnant wife. He did a normal scope into her nose as well and got lectured for about 15 minutes. All these comes to RM 218!

Upon registration, the receptionist asked which Chinese ancestry my wife belongs to and what is she working as. I felt weird at the beginning as I wondered why they needed such details. I don't quite like the receptionist attitude. Reminds me of some fierce teachers in those government school. Actually Dr Khor as well. He shows some kind of impatiences when you ask him more questions.

During examination, he insisted that my wife's problem is with what she is doing, which is online clothes reseller (At this time I realised why he wants to record what my wife's job is). He said that all new cloths contains allergens that is triggering her sinus problem. I'm not really sure if this is the case or not as she is not stocking a lot of the clothes at home and only once a week she will be handling the clothes and furthermore, she handles less than 10 pieces of the clothes. Hmm, if really this is the cause, she can't be walking into shopping mall already. I still feel sceptical on his claims but he is not a person that you could really voice your opinion to, so I just agree to what he say and hopefully his treatment works. He has also suggested us to open all the windows in the house for good ventilation, which he has a point and I'm doing it.

4 days now, my wife is still experiencing the same thing daily. My wife is asked to use the treatment he gave till the next appointment which is about  1.1/2 weeks more to go. Not sure whether to go back or not.

Since he said that it is due to some allergens and as it is happening to her around the same time each day, I recommended my wife to use the netti pot on a strict schedule, i.e before the time, she is expected to have headache which is once at 1pm and 6pm. This idea just came up today, hope this works. My reasoning is to clean up the allergens that is irritating her sinus before it gets too irritated till it hits her head.

On the other hand just to share, previously I noticed that I've been over humidifying my room. I read that ideally, the room humidity should about around 40-60%. Anything above 60%, allows dust mites to thrive. Previously my Sharp filter that has a build-in humidifier, has brought my room humidity level up to 80%. I quit using it as Dr Khor also said that it is bad. Now my room is about 55 plus minus.

u mean dr koay from sunway? It costs alot more, just his consultation alone is 80 bucks without using the scope. WIth the scope it costs me 120-150 without medication. with meds the total dmg is close to Rm300 already. Dr khor charged me around 60-80 for consultation and scope, with meds it costs me around 150. that's alot cheaper for me, same meds because i see them for the same problem most of the time.

Looks like ur wife has sinusitis which i have it too. What he said is correct cuz that's what dr koay from sunway told me as well. when it comes to sinusitis, it gets irritated really easily and mucus will start to flow non stop, worse case scenario headache like u mentioned and there was twice i experienced immense pain on my ear and eye which is also caused by my sinus. once i went to dr khor and it felt alot better after his treatment and his meds. the other i went to dr koay in sunway hospital. In my earlier posts i also mentioned i had my part sinus removed by him as well because it was giving me alot of problems at that time

About the doctor asking for ur wife's occupation, i was asked the same as well ever since i stepped into his clinic till today, he just wants to know the environment of ur work place. 

You can't compare a mall and a house when it comes to dust/allergen etc, because a mall is really huge compared to a house therefore the amount of stuff gathered in the house is alot worse compared to a mall.

I wonder, if ur wife is sensitive to dust as well as it might irritate her sinus. if so, may i suggest you to read on the benefits of air ionizer where it produces negative ions to stick on to positive ions around us to clean the air. What i read about it is that all the dust particles will become heavier therefore it will fall to the ground instead of just floating around irritating ppl with sensitive nose.

I spent a total of RM444 for a short 7 minute consultation. Is there any ways I can raise awareness on problems like this if this is too expensive?
