I've a X3 720 BE Batch 0906 FPMW with ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard with BIOS 0403.

Cannot unlock 4th core, it will hang at boot up and need to press F1 to goes back into the BIOS..

Dunno if it is my motherboard or the CPU itself..

Any tips on how to do the core unlock the proper way..

I just turn ACC to Auto in the BIOS..

Thanks

Tried with BIOS 407...

I also tried multiplier x10, set ACC to Auto... no response...still at 3 cores..

set ACC to Unleashed Mode.. failed to boot up.. later restarted with error message, unable to turn on Unleashed Mode..

Think my 4th core is really faulty...

how to know that proc is unlockable anot ?
batch code ?
can be unlock mean 100% can unlock it to 4 core ?
is this ok if i take msi 770t-c45 and AMD 550 BE ?
or 790 is better ?big different ?

please tell me,because i want buy it at this weekend.
thank you very much.

If you go for X2 550 BE, ASUS board have a higher % of unlock 3rd or 4th core as the unleashed mode can set which core to use...

e.g. use core 0,1,2 or 0,1,3 ..etc..etc

So yr chance of using a non-faulty core is higher %

I am using a M4A785TD-V with X3 720 BE with batch 0906 FPMW but still could not unlock 4th core...

So still depends on luck... but I only use all the 3 core when doing video decoding or converting video from one codec to another.. other than that 2 core should be good enuf for most applications..

Just d/l the asus BIOS user guide to read more about it..

Hello there..i ned to ask all the master out here..
how to reset cmos on msi 770-c45?
help me....where the jumper, how to do it and so on..
this is the preparation b4 unlocking..hehe..tq so much ya..hope can pm me..tq..tq..

If yr unlock failed to boot, after a few retries, the mobo BIOS would jump to default settings and display an error that an unlock failed..

I don't think you need to manually reset the cmos using jumpers..
