i believe its possible.
my unlock was unsuccessful but that was the processor problem. the processor itself not capable to unlock even i tried on any other motherboard.
will update u if i have time to test
*
i personally think that mobo not good enough to handle unlocked core altought have acc. i read some review about this mobo and no positive respon yet. or need to confirm my x3 not unlockable

isn't it obvious that it's d chip causin stability issue when ur able to blend test stable w/ 3 cores while unstable w/ 4 cores?  hmm.gif

but prime95 test (small fft) all 4 core full load stable blink.gif

Hi,

Some queries here...

Try unlocking 555BE/MSI 770C45. Turn ACC on and EC Firmware to Special and all others at default and Bios V1.4. Can post and show B55x4core but failed to start Windows.

What else can I try?
*
still got 50% chance more. adjust htlink, volt, value percore

Hi,

i'm using Athlon II X3 440
recently i've managed to get into windows with 4 cores
no L3 though

however, if running on 4 cores, i noticed the speed is constantly at 3GHz...won't go down to 800MHz during idle
in device manager, windows recognized only 3 B40 and 1 unknown device under processor tab
are both of these conditions normal?

also, using Biostar A770E3 mobo. this mobo supports 125W proc only. the unlocked B40 shows that the max TDP is 126W
can my mobo support this...safely?

Thanks
*
normal and unlocked athlon ii got none l3 cache. in some reason my phenom 720 also no speed drop although set CnQ to auto. no prob i set CnQ disable to avoid some drop in performance.

try do some multicore task and see the result. play gta4, everest benchmark, and even win7 wei rating for proc also can see diff if all 4 core unlocked.

no prob. max tdp is inaccurate. as long its not overload mobo power phase

after using OC genie II to unlock and OC my proc, i cant seem to see the core temperatures using CPUID hw monitor, coretemps and so on.. why is it like tat?

i manage to find the cpu temperature in the bios and it stated there 50+- celcius and i'm actually using noctua nh-d14. is the temp. acceptable for using such cooler??
*
hw monitor refer TMPIN1. if gigabyte mobo can refer to ET.
mine xigmatek hdt 1283 for phenom 20 idle at 44. full load ~65. vcore 1.44 3.5ghz

turning on the pc and straight goes into bios, it stated 40+- celcius. i suppose that would be idle temp. after some gaming, it goes to 50+-celcius. dont dare to stress test yet as i cant see the temps..
i'm using msi mobo.. there isnt any TMPIN1.. only TMPIN0 and TMPIN2. i'm thinking is the cpu temp refers to TMPIN0 as it is almost the same as the bios..  rclxub.gif

but for idle temp at 40+-celcius on this massive cooler is kinda weird. maybe i have to re-seat the cooler or reapply my thermal paste.. cos i only put a small dot amount of thermal paste (without spreading it all over the proc) and put the cooler on.. is this the correct way??? blurred.

wait don open cooler, try get the accurate temp reading first. try look at sensor in everest ultimate. if really temp not acceptable so reseat cooler with better thermal grease(important). normally unlocked 4core from 2core max tdp will go higher than normal 125w. so it might reason why more heat generated than usual quad phenom

sifus... thanks for the guide so far..

aida64 @ everest is stating 45+- on the cpu sensor. and the room temp is quite hot. the pc is in a non a/c room.

is it a normal temp for those who unlock to 4 cores? or it should be lower??
[attachmentid=2451440]

idle temp not too important. give them OCCT and see how much full load temp. better make sure them below 65~70c.
if want to check cooler working fine or not, disable 2 core as normal n test its full load. your cooler high end air cooler already can compare to basic wc such as h50/60

guy u know how higher temp can make OCCT test fail? its fail on random core after i close side panel casing. about 2~3min test it occur. if open it side back no problem in OCCT, even 10h

no idea..maybe temp reading not accurate. seem tmpin1 same as read in et6 and everest and speedfan. but if disable unlocked core temp read ech core about 7~10c lower than tmpin1
