Thanks a lot!!
Just wondering though, what are the standard programs that one should have installed before attempting to OC or unlock? Programs that I have gathered so far are CPU-Z, Prime 95 (for testing) and hardware monitor |

Sigh.. Tried unlocking my BE550 but no luck.. I'm using MSI 770-C45.. Flashed to 1.42 ROM as per http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=228417
What i've done so far is to update my bios, EC firmware = special, ACC = auto.. Am I missing anything? Do I need to tinker with the voltage etc? Please advise.. Thanks.. |

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 2 2009, 03:41 PM) u can strat by tellin which batch ya 550BE is... aint no voltage adjustment needed, as long as u load d correct bios + set acc, d cores will be unlocked IF d chip comes w/ healthy locked cores. Yea, thing is, I don't remember which batch is it.. Is there any other way to check it? I don't have the box either.. Lol |

The above steps is only relevant to processors that can boot into windows? How bout processors which upon putting ACC to auto but can't even start up the comp? likely to have bad cores?

QUOTE(ah_khoo @ Sep 17 2009, 03:27 PM) as long as there's a down core option in bios (which i'm sure all boards which can do core unlockin have) will do. Ahhh.. I see.. Will try it as soon as i'm done managing and cleaning my comp!.. force 3 core in down core option will do bro, asus is more advance coz their bios let users to chose which core to disable. eg if 3 cores there're options of: 1> Core 0, 1 & 2 2> Core 0, 1 & 3 3> Core 1, 2 & 3 i mite be wrong thou, but d logic is something similar i guess... Thanks.. pray for me.. i think 4 cores, mine cannot... not suer which batch though.. hahaha |

No more FSB term then use what wor?
I'll try that out as soon as I get off work.. thanks all the sifus!! CPU specs? Ermm... no screenshot but:- CPU: 550BE MB: MSI 770-C45 Ram : KVR 1333 DDR3 4GB GC: ATI 4870 PSU: Xigmatek 550 HDD: 800GB Caviar Green OT: If i OC by increasing FSB, my DRAM frequency goes up along with it.. Is that bad? I mean, will it cause any system unstability? |

Ahh.. So i take it I should try to maintain my DRAM at 1333Mhz by adjusting the FSB/DRAM ratio with every increase of FSB?
