Biostar TA790GX A3+ / Processor AMD X2 550 0922CPMW
Before Unlock ~ I just simply test with simple Spec Gigabyte Odin Pro 550watt , Kingmax 1333 ddr3 D9 chipset , Capalang Monitor  I took a snapshot of 2 core only before unlocking  Anyhow , Original Biostar TA790GX A3+ Doesnt want to unlock my processor , i Changed to a Modified Bios Which can do Unlocking  Ta daaa , Sucessfully Unlock 4th Core , The proc Code has Changed to B50 instead of 550 ,HAHA ~ Weird Name , I stress it for 1 hour plus , it seems to be stable but temperature seems to be high with stock fan  IF normal State , CPU temperature only 25 Degree  This post has been edited by kit_kit: Jul 24 2009, 05:27 PM |

Just a suggestion bro.
Better categories by processor and put the batch number 1st. i plan to change my J&W 790GX-Extreme mobo....i plan for tis mobo,MSI 790fx-GD70 or DFI LANPARTY DK 790FXB-M3H5...Can u guys recommended which 1 or got another mobo use ddr3 for me and mybe also can unlock my 550 x2 BE...hehe..

Msi 790gx-g65 / amd phenom II 550 be (0922CPMW) successful unlock the 3rd and 4th core but HT juz 1600 instead of 2000, is it big different? Overclock to 3.5ghz using stock v-core, not dare to pump v core cuz cannot c the temp. any solution for the temp issue?

Hi , I duno my 550BE is failed or using wrong method.
Proc : 550BE 0922CPMW MOBO : Biostar TA790GX A3+ Using this. 78DAA616.CET , Some error occur , cant boot to screen , keep hang blank screen but the MOnitor Power still ON. Any solution for me ? Anyone willing to guide me unlock this ? |

Hi Guys, my old PC just get fried thanks to lighting strike, my bad.
I guess i am going to get a PhenonII X3 processor and I understand that for unlocking the 4th core, the best bet is to get 720 BE series and aim for 0904EPQW batch... How about motherboard? Anyone can recommend me a (price-wise) reasonable mobo? Please do correct me if i miss anything and if i am wrong. Thanks in advance |

Hi guys, I might be buying a new PC quite soon and I want to try my luck in unlocking a few cores.
I'm on a budget (about RM700 for both processor and motherboard) so could you guys give some recommendations? I heard the X2s have a better chance to unlock the cores compared to the X3 versions, and the latest motherboards using the 790GX chipset cannot unlock the locked cores anymore. |

 erm...I unlocked my x2 550BE before....was trying out everest 5.02 with prime95 suprisingly, the cpu temp went haywire...shooting all the way to 70C. so it is normal for an unlocked processor to give this readings? |

You either need to lower down your clock speed o increase vCore.

hm...sorry for 'missing' for fews days ... got many things to follow up.
finally i manage to get mine Phenon II X2 550 from Cycom @ RM360 (Roblyn no more stock )by the way , my setting as below Phenon II X2 550 (unlock 4 cores) 4gb DDR3 Ram MSI 770 C45 motherboard and my cpu-z result as below when set to auto 
edit now after i manually set the multiplier + HT Link my result as below 
by the way, i am concern with the core temp. When i am running prime95 for few seconds (10 seconds) , it shoot up to 60'C in TMPIN0.... takut later cpu burned >_< what is the safe temp? If i am not mistaken, i read from AMD website, the cpu only can stand the heat until 65'C

as for the temp... i just read from amd site that max temp for PhenomII X2 550BE is only 70'C (sorry for earlier typo) so i dont know what will happen when the temp exceed 70'C... >_<

I will draft down according to my memory (because if I have to write the whole settings here, requires me to restart the PC, enter Bios and take pics with my crappy 2MP camera phone) and you might add later questions regarding stuff that I may missed out... The top one (ASUS AI Overclocking mode or something) should be the selection between Auto and Manual...Choose Manual! Next multiplier set to 15.5x DDR Settings choose according to your ram preference ( set to manual and select below, the speed 667 ke, 800 ke, 1066 ke) *Note: When put 1066, Cas 4 wont be able to select!! Ok next is the CPU/NB speed; Some say CPU to Ram communication, some say CPU to memory controller to ram, some say memory controller to Ram to CPU, either ways this will end up in the CPU-Z under the name NB Frequency.... Select 1800! Dun be greddy....want 4 cores oso want fast transfer between memory controller summore... HT Link, select 1.8Ghz CPU Vcore: set 1.5v if you got the bebolas, if not put 1.4v CPU/NB : put 1.275 to 1.350v VDDNB : (TBH, I also dunno what this does) put 2.7v DDR Voltage : put your Ram manufacturer suggest...if your ram can go 2.2v put 2.2v if your rams is rated 1.8v example Kingston Value Ram, don;t put 2.5v!!! Ever!!! Why??? Because I don't want you to drive all the way to LYP or Kelana Jaya for an RMA....Like me no prob...no rams, just pilih between Crucial, (Corsair)Nanya, (KVR)Hynix or the slowest ram i got Aeneon... NB voltage: 1.3v HTT voltage : 1.2v SB volt: 1.2v The two thing below the SB voltage settings, disable them....both...period..why?? don't ask, just do it soldier!!! Ok now you can save your settings and reboot PC....Double check everything, save and reboot the PC.... After POST enter Bios and check whether everything is correct...Now, lets proceed to the next part, which is the crucial part in terms of Unlocking the 'hidden' cores... Next to the Asus AI page in the Bios is the where the CPU Config will be....Enter CPU Config and you will see options such as Microcode update, Cool & Quiet, ACPI Table and what not...Disable everythingggggg!!!!!!!!!!  The last selection in the menu would be the ACC Choose "Per Core", below set: Core 0 : 0% Core 1 : -4% Core 2 : -4% Core 3 : -4% IMPORTANT!!!!! Make sure Unleashed Mode is DISABLED!!! I repeat, DISABLED!!!! Ok after you set the ACC options, go to profiles and save your OC setting in bank 1...give name X2X4, hit save and exit the page..... Go to save and exit bios and hope for the best!!! See if you computer can POST or does it goes blank?? If post let me know here, If cannot Post, press reset button a couple of times and ignore any messages upon reboot...just straight away let me know here.... All of the above won't activate your hidden cores yet....Come here and let me know does your PC reboots.... |

maybe just that to counter gigitbite not agree with amd lock microcode..
some earlier bioses not have unleashed mode.. if they continue.. they are in big loss.. i'm sick with their budget line mobo's bios no point having them if limits here n there.. sounds like cincai to me.. hopefully with 785 chip bios will have more room to tweak.. hopefully... |

success unlocked my friend 550be month ago using 790gx-g65 bios v1.4b2, but forgot to see the batch no (buy 1st then I know it can unlock).
recently bought another 550be 0925APMW using same mobo bios v1.4 but no luck. can unlock but freeze during windows loading. up the cpu voltage, still no luck... |

try boards from gigabyte / biostar and certain msi. no difference in performance,if u got budget for ddr3 rams,then go ahead with AM3 socket,otherwise stick to AM2+. just managed to unlocked my 550BE batch 0928CPMW using GA-MA790GP-UD4H,bios F3. run p95 for 5min only.no errors even tho temp is high.

Sigh.. Tried unlocking my BE550 but no luck.. I'm using MSI 770-C45.. Flashed to 1.42 ROM as per http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=228417
What i've done so far is to update my bios, EC firmware = special, ACC = auto.. Am I missing anything? Do I need to tinker with the voltage etc? Please advise.. Thanks.. |

guys...i need help here...i told u 1st on wat i have done
just bought a new pc...using biostar ta790gx am3 succesfully install it with windows 7....try to unlock the proc using the ACC function in the bios my pc dun wan start....nothing appear on the screen so i clear the cmos....back to normal again...phewww then i try to change the bios into modded bios using f12 in bios mode after finish my pc dun wan start again...nothing on the screen clear cmos oso no effect the led 1 n 2 are dead led phase 1 only blinking proc n everything else running how to solve this problem ty very much for ur help...really appreciate it |

.cet files are meant to be flashed by t-series bios update (from d cd) only, flashin it w/ f12 or afudos is as gud as sendin ya board for rma (diff version of agesa iirc).

For biostar not all bios support unlocking, u have to research 1st which bios people had used successfully in unlocking using the same mobo as urs.. |

i heard that i have to flash the bios to 1.3 version above right ? the box comes with the disc, MSI live update 3, so if i run the update, it will be updated to the proper version to unlock izit ? can it be done without using flopy ? |

Apparently there's a new modded BIOS for Biostar TA790GXE-128M based on 826 BIOS (the previous one was 617) to unlock the cores, located here, made by the same person who created the 'chinese modded bios'.
Anyone who is proficient in Chinese might want to help us translate on what has changed? |

I've a X3 720 BE Batch 0906 FPMW with ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO motherboard with BIOS 0403.
Cannot unlock 4th core, it will hang at boot up and need to press F1 to goes back into the BIOS.. Dunno if it is my motherboard or the CPU itself.. Any tips on how to do the core unlock the proper way.. I just turn ACC to Auto in the BIOS.. Thanks |

I also tried multiplier x10, set ACC to Auto... no response...still at 3 cores.. set ACC to Unleashed Mode.. failed to boot up.. later restarted with error message, unable to turn on Unleashed Mode.. Think my 4th core is really faulty... |

Hello.want to ask something..if we unlocked the 4th core (i am using 720 BE)..and my system fail to boot..can i still enter the cmos setting to set it to default again?
Or..when i failed to unlock..the cmos also will not appear? thanx for reply ;-) |

how to know that proc is unlockable anot ?

1. i don't know - it's luck. batch code that proven 100% unlock so far 0922
2. i don't know - sometimes u got 3 cores only (applicable to asus board) 3. ok lor - but still depending on proc (if u prefer to unlock) 4. depend on SB.. sb 710, sb750 can do unlock. look like ur question too much, from garage sales, until oc united |

1)now i can format until 20% (formatting) than hang, i dont know why.. 2)i try to format in another computer with windows, normal format(right click and click format only), then i put back and choose leave the default file system ... (i got NTFS file system).. but guess what, hang at 46%.. 3)i try another CD, this time i use my ahem version(for testing), number 1&2 is using ori cd...but still hang, hang at 0% when just start copy.. i use this CD to try step 1 also hang at 20% (formatting) i also relize that my mobo, sudden got cannot boot with abnormal(2LED off) or (memory error) 1 LED on 1 off BIOS version 08.00.14 Added on September 30, 2009, 5:53 pmoh ya, forget, i got reset CMOS before... anything to do with that? bad board?? sent RMA how long...zzz i gona sell this board already, this is my 2nd biostar board RMA already.. P4M900 and this one... zzzz any other board to recommend? 1 more thing 1 to ask.. i when open the new processor i never realized, but after i fix in the heatsink everything i open back, i saw the 4 side got kemek abit, is it normal one?? it come already like this? i dont think is ram problem lo.. now the ram actually is new 1... i pinjam from the dealer as my XMS3 haven't come... and i board this board on 8/9/09 haiz... i wait the memory almost a month and still haven't come
