electronic stuff, most probably need to get AP from sirim.. last time my gps stuck and need to fork out around 200 for Sirim + Kastam.. Lucky the unit didn't have any wifi or bt.. if not maybe around 300..

Need to use special USB dongle.. They working on support for on the shelf Wifi dongle.. but still no list of supported device yet..

Remember, while it support USB the OS POHD still need a driver to function.

I try asus Oplay.. also feel the GUI is really basic.. Currently using HTPC with xbmc..

that's true.. especially with our POS services.. Anyway, try to nego, hopefully can get lower price.. 699 is original price when the item arrive in malaysia.. Even lowyat selling around 550 for both AC Ryan and Xtreamer now..

Checkout also Seagate player. less than 500 with better user interface.. the former 2 player quite basic UI..

when talking about tranfers rate, make sure whether it's bit (b) or Byte (B).

Windows vista/7 when copy a file is using Byte.. 20MBps (megabyte) mean 160 (Megabits).

I only see asus oplay but i think other also the same. The rate is in bits. for additional info

LAN (100Mb) can get around 8-9 MB
LAN (1G) can get around 30-40 MB
Wifi G (54Mb) can get around 2-3 MB
Wifi N (150) can get around 4-5MB -only got old one with 150Mbps
USB (450Mb) can get arounf 20-30MB

That's tested using copy file feature of windows.. Gigabit lan usually fluctuate a lot..but min more than 10MB. Wifi also the same and the rate around half the theoretical speed (at least what I observed).

That's will be connected speed between the device. From the device to service provider is another story.
