QUOTE(auhckw @ Jan 6 2010, 10:06 PM) >>>22) Improved HDMI connectivity with certain TV brands/models I think this issue is due to the inability of the POHD to auto detects the correct resolution & frame rate from the source. If you have any DVDRip, DivX/Xvid, you can test it out, the POHD would not able to convert from 1080p/60 to 480p/60, you have to manually change it using the TV Sys button on the remote. This mostly happens when I watch 720p source with HDMI Auto (1080p/60)Hope this will solve the once in a while flicker issue This post has been edited by echoesian: Jan 6 2010, 10:39 PM |

Note: Copy install.img to the root directory of a USB flash drive and connect it to the USB host port of the player. Enter the Setup menu, System, System Update, System Upgrade and Enter to confirm. Please wait for the flashing to complete until the Playon! HD restarts by itself. Do not power off the unit during the flashing process! The HDMI connection may reset after updating the firmware and may go out of sync with your display. Press the TV SYS button on the remote a few times to sync with a compatible display mode if this happen. Once the display is back, we recommend setting to HDMI Auto in the video setup menu unless a manual mode is preferred. Attention: Please note that version v7.0.6 r2901 is based on the latest SDK version 3. Should you need to roll back to an earlier version, you may be required to reformat the internal HDD through the Playon!HD system. Thanks for the info auhckw. Downloading now and try tonight. I'm quite new to the POHD, just 7 days old since I got it. May be some sifus here can help me.
1. POHD can connect to NFS servers. Can it also act as an NFS server so my computer can connect to it using NFS instead of SAMBA? 2. How to power down the POHD? I put the POHD to sleep (red LED) using the remote. Then I hold the power button on the front of the POHD for many seconds but all it does is turn back on to blue. 3. Is it OK to turn off the power to the POHD when it's sleeping since I dunno how to power down the POHD using the remote or the front button. I must say I'm quite happy so far with this gadget. The only thing I wish is that it can read my Mac formatted USB HDs. Also wished it had gigabit LAN but that can't be changed. |

I noticed new firmware now got adjustments for Hue and saturation, not that it matters to some people.
Also besides being able to play BD.iso in previous firmware , now BDMV folder also can be played automatically (previously have to select the largest file). Now when you select the BDV folder it asks you whether you want to browse the folder or play automatically I also feel that bootup and browsing is faster. The HDD plugin and USB plugin message is also quicker. And another thing , I think (haven't tried extensively yet) the loss of sound problem which sometimes happens when you click on the file too soon, before the previews starts , is now no loger a problem. (Have to test more on this to make sure). Next firmware, YAMJ coming up This post has been edited by Ngto: Jan 7 2010, 11:22 PM |
