The Storyline - The Great WAR

The Genotians are suffering from diseases from their early experiments on gene therapy. Their attempt to overrule the Federation have failed and turned into a war-zone which lasted 5 years. Attempting to cure the diseases that has devastated the race, they searched everywhere for some technology that could save them until they discover Chaos Island and the supernatural powers of Tears of Chaos.

Prince Judd was exiled from Dragon Cage City severely injured after bloody war over being the emperor. Nora, Princess of Natarian, used the power of the Tears of Chaos to save his life and eventually fell in love during his recovery period. Unfortunately, Natarian customs forbid marrying people of different races. Spurned by her people, they returned to Dragon Land with the Tears of Chaos. Once again engaging a war for emperorship, he was victorious. The newly crowned Emperor and Princess Nora were married.

The Natarians revoke their treaty with the Draconians when they found out the Tears of Chaos had been stolen. Without the aid of the gem, the Natarian Elders began to die. Luna, involuntarily stepped into the leader’s seat and train Natarians into great warriors fighting off the Draconians and Genotians. In a desperate maneuver, Luna spread rumors to the Genotians that the Draconians also had the Tears of Chaos. Many Draconians were killed when the Genotians attacked them without cause.

And so began “The Great War”. Closed beta begins in August 2009, register as a hero at war.varunagames.com!

Here are some game features we would like to share with you:

WAR System
The Race War is breathtaking since there are three different races battling; nobody knows who will win the war. WAR online also holds Border War, five days a week in preparation for Resource War. The winning race of Resource war controls the battle field mines until the next Resource War.

Mount System
The Mount system not only allows you to ride on it but to fight on it as well. The Mount system increases your moving speed and even your character attributes. The Mounts are a mixture of the olden days from mounting a beast till modern day Harley Davidson motorbikes according to your preference.

Growth System
The Growth system is a unique system. It allows players to create and upgrade their equipment. With this system a player only needs create a single set of equipment. You can upgrade each item both in terms of level and quality; including weapons, armor, eudemons, gems and even mounts!

In-Game Credit Card System
Players who meet the requirements will get in-game credit card automatically. When players reached level 30, they will be allowed to buy items with diamonds (item mall points) by borrowing from Central Bank. In-game credit card is totally interest free with expiry date. Moreover, if you are unhappy in any way with the items you purchase from mall, you will never have to pay back your debt.

Hi Ichigo,

Hunters and Archers can also be classfied under rogue category unless the rogues you wanted is armed with short daggers or katars. There is no assassin category available.

Would be nice if screenshots are provided and i've watched the video you posted and i have no idea what is going on even after finish watching it.

I saw you guys at PC Gamer magazine but was worried it might be another F2P game that does heavy advertising only as i can guarantee you not even one of those MMORPG featured at the last few pages of PC Gamer can even qualify themselves as a good MMORPG according to my own standards.

Anywhere we can read additional information on this game other than storyline which majority of the gamers would just ignore?

If you never heard of Varuna Technologies Sdn Bhd its because we have been publishing chinese online games previously and this is our first english game to be release.

More information will be released soon. Information can also be obtain through our official website and August issue of PCGAMER. Tentatively the information will be released bit by bit starting next monday unless something went wrong.

As for graphic wise, it is a 2D game. Normally 2D do not have awesome graphics but it provides a great game play. If you are a gamers who goes for great graphics which we assume you have a uber expensive graphic card with uber computer, this will not be your game. However, if you are the one going for game features and systems, this is brand new for you to try out.

Its F2P. The game is totally a new gaming concept. The game will not solely be pawned by rich players. Why is that?

We have a in game credit card system. This system allow players level 30 and above to obtain daily in game credit for free (means no real life money involve) by completing the quest and exchanging it with gold. Players can also owed the central bank by purchasing items through the CS first and later pay it via quest or top up.

Lvling is a breeze. Its easy to level with minimum at least a level a day. Its really easy. Enchancing equipments is unique and for your information you only need one set as you can upgrade its level when you reach the necessity level.

As for players with criticism our doubt on this game, we recommend you guys to try it out. We understand that most players nowadays will go for awesome graphics and whatnot. The game is really easy to level and we might even adjust it for every player to be max level in the very first month. We want our players to have fun - our main priority! Top up if our service is up to par.

but they should raise the level cap more if its easy to level.

What's the point of playing if it is easy lvling?

Nowadays most online games require players to grind high levels, use lots of money to make uber equipments and etc ...

Well for WAR Online it is slightly different. You do not need to grind levels as it is actually quest based. Quest are easy to complete and I mean really easy, it takes maybe 5 to 10 minutes and you get quite a few % experience.

While most games requires to be high level to enjoy the fun such as war, pking and etc ... this will be similiar. We want our users to enjoy such benefits. You can easily reach level 20 to 30 within the first 2 days and participate in WAR which take place daily. We also want our users to PK players from other nations and secure the Mine. On weekends, there are 8 Immortal Challenges, Zodiac Challenge and much more. These dungeons are massive bloodshed PK in order to be victorious to obtain such nice stuffs.

Grinding kinda gets bored when it slows down. So we want to make a difference. However, it is not as fast as private servers (which is not) so it will take a bit of time too.

Try it out ... I'll be loading more stuffs later today with screenshots and some information. I'll try to get the information to be release on the website too, so you will have more view on how this game looks like.

The website have been loaded with informations!! However there are some problems with the alignments which we are sorting it out. You can check it out at http://war.varunagames.com.

We did not participate in the PC Fair. We had a booth but the game did not make it on time so we had to pull out.

The servers are up and running and it is in testing and debugging phase.

Looks good. Hopefully the english won't be as broken as some MMORPG I know. I know it sounds silly, but it is a personal nitpick of mine.

Running Auto Update Using Window Vista (FAQ)

1. Click “Start” button to bring up the list of applications. Then select “Control Panel”.
2. At the search box, Type in “UAC” and press enter.
3. You will see a link for “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”
4. To disable UAC, you need to restart your computer. Click “OK” and restart your computer.
5. After the computer restart or when UAC is off, double click WAR Online client icon to start auto-update.
6. After the computer restart or when UAC is off, double click WAR Online client icon to start auto-update.

Note:
a) Auto-update process is might be slow if you are using Windows Vista.
b) It will also depend on the number of patch-files stored beforehand on the auto-update server, we may have to double click WAR Online client icon one or two more times to auto-update all necessary patch-files.

When auto-update is completed, you can re-open UAC. Repeat the above process when next time you cannot auto-update and enter game. Though annoying, UAC helps enhance user safety!

Your argument seems flawed. If a game is good there will be sure many players who cant wait to test out the beta. Please look at other games in beta stage and see how many players are willing to do anything just to get into beta. Go look at Heroes or Newerth or if you want to say its because its for Dota players then look again at other beta such as Champions Online

Saying its exam week is just another excuse. How about those who arent studying like me?

Personally i didnt try the beta because this game looks boring and outdated not to mention the website still contains Chinese words which show how unprofessional you guys are. Not to mention this game looks like grindfest. Grindfest is okay when the graphics are nice at least there is something to keep you occupied but this game's graphics are too outdated

But i really hope they have a patch next time to allow us to remove the cap or set it to 60 fps or higher.
