Ask her hobby, what she does, what she like. Something that I always ask girls is "What do you usually do in shopping malls?" If she answer something other than shopping, eat, then she at least has some kind of personality.

say "hi..i'm [insert your name]...what's yours?" then continue asking her questions and LISTEN
just see her as your friend sure wont nervous 1

even after these years i still quite suck at asking questions(especially if the girl is SUPA-HAWT and i get tongue-tied )
my only advice i can give you is don't be TOO nervous(like i dunno...you're suddenly sweating when its not even hot ) and read her body language to find out if she really likes you(go google yourself )

so just say a few words like "ummm...." or " yeah" or "hows the curry?" or " did you do the laundry today?"...then they'll just yap all the way about their life which u dont want to know.
