United to bid £35 million in surprise cut price raid

Manchester United will reportedly bid £35 million for Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester City target Franck Ribery in two weeks time according to the Sun.

The Premier League champions will reportedly wait two weeks before weighing in so that a clause in Ribery’s Bayern Munich contract is active.

The former Marseille star, who has been heavily coveted by Real Madrid and Barcelona, is a due a loyalty bonus on August 14th, by which stage the player is expected to request a transfer.

The Bavarian giants have thus far dismissed any notion of the player leaving the club, despite his alleged intent to join Real Madrid.

The Sun intimate the 26-year-old winger would be willing to move to Old Trafford, and United believe the player could force a move away from the club, if Munich maintain their defiant stance.

Bayern Munich are allegedly more willing to negotiate with United then Real Madrid, believing the latter have shown their club contempt.

Munich are likely to demand closer to £50 million, and United’s intent may invite interest from Manchester City and Chelsea in particular.
