Lol, since you've already narrowed down ur choice to only these 2 speakers, the best way out would be audition isn't it? Hear it, like it, took it, as simple as that.

i dont know why to me s330 sound much "smaller" compare to C3. C3 sounds "bigger"

they both sound good to me

although c3 lack of bass,it can allow reduction of bass so neighbors won't complain
also c3 got external amp
and the sub 8 inch!!!

s330 btw have more bass(I like)
more compact as there is no external amp and have a cool control pod
sub is just 6.5 inch
kinda scared as 6.5 accepting so much bass have higher chance of breaking it rather than an 8 inch sub which is stronger.

for me, i'd get the C3, cause sounds better in my ears.
also, the external amp really useful. next time want to hook other subwoofer, or do some experiment using different speakers etc... also looks better.

S330 has its advantage too. simple volume pod. smaller unit.
but i still take the C3 if were to choose. actually i nearly bought a C3 that time liao. but now think of R501. same price leh.

depends on your usage, if you are more into gaming and movies, then you need more "boom....!!" sound.

well how was it? dont forget to burn-in to increase the performance of a new speaker...

anyway poll doesnt mean everything, u are the one who bought, not them liao... ur decision must be based on your preference..

TS, also since C3 cheaper about rm50 than s330 (All IT price) i think you could use the extra 50 to send your soundcard to EXTREME for modding capacitors and opamp...can further improve the clarity and especially the bass for your C3

but also depends on whether you are using a superior soundcard like Asus Xonar...if yes then dont need mod. But if u're using Creative's, highly recommended to mod ; )

if you use onboard sound...stay away from c3....

i am using c3..i am agree with andrew9292. you can change cable + sound card to improve the clarity. it was cool if you have both the thing i mentioned but if you don't have please stay away from c3 cos it really bad when using on board sound card. just my 2 cents.

because that look like 'powerful' amp actually is quite 'powderful', if want to change the sub, why not go to buy another speaker...

2.1 speaker i will go for edifier m3300 cos the sound is solid cos without sound card c3 is not a good choice.

if you wan to change the sub.. you better go for s330. but the design not as nice as c3. c3 can beat s330 if paired with good sound card.
btw c3 and s330 has different feel. depend on what audio output you wan.

yeah, cause edifiers are very sensitive to the sound source, it play exactly what the source sounds like, so a bad source will reveal it's flaws with edifiers...the higher end ones especially...starting from c3 up to their S-series

actually both are good speakers, go audition them with a cheap china mp3 player or something to compare what they both sound like with cheap source... which is better?

then try use something higher end like sony mp3 or at least an ipod to compare how they both sound like with a better source...

most important thing is TRUST your ears. cos different people different taste.

hahah. Yeah source, actually everything counts in audio reproduction, from the source file mp3 and bitrate...best to use is FLAC... to soundcard...soundcard capacitors, opamps, EMI sensitivity of the card....to the cables to the speaker etc etc...

I'm planning to buy 2.1 speakers for my newly purchased PS3.

After doing some checking, it's now either s330 or c3. Which one of these speakers would sound good paired with a PS3?

And also S330 has the digital version. Does digital make any differences for this purpose?

For PS3, i will recom u S330D, It can connect to u digital output.

Anyway i just bought a 24" Dell ST2410 with HDMI input and audio output (3.5mm jack)

I'm wondering if i connect my PS3 to my monitor via HDMI ( for video+audio) and then output the audio from the monitor to the 2.1 speakers, how would the sound quality be. Similar to digital output?

s330 is good but in my opinion if connecting to PS3 it will be a headache to control the volume

so C3 wins in functionality because of the wireless remote

in dilemma here,
Which one to choose, C3 or s330?
I more to music and playing game than watching movie.

both of em almost in same price range,(s330 +rm40)
What i know about the speaker is
S330 pwn C3 in bass, simplicity but lack of function
C3 pwn s330, got moar function, got remote control, but the bass is weak compare to S330 and need a good sound card aswell good cable.

TS is here to save you
in my opinion S330 isn't really that good for overall performance... the treble will kill you slowly day after days~
get the C3 and a good soundcard like Asus Xonar U1 (if you can still find it)... ignore cables as it does nothing huge...(unless you change them to silver cables)

if you can't find any good soundcard available then go get this
it's good and cheap at the same time


but still... allow your ears to judge them as we can't help you in that part.
(or you can top it up and get an Edifier S530D or S730D )

Already tested the C3, compare to it little sister, C2+(hcs2330), the sound is totally difference, the audio much clearer, the bass is tight but weaker than C2+,(this baby boom the All IT today, haha, sorry... )

Then Tested the logitech, forgot which model, but it THX certified, well, from my ear, it sound better than C3 but, after tune up the C3, GAWD, almost like the THX model

But sadly i couldnt find the s330, so cant tell which one is the best.

Over all, im going to get Edifier C3! HAHAHA!

Btw, TS, as C3 user, do you recommend to upgrade the RCA cable? yea, because the speaker cable look fine to me, but the RCA cable is.. well.. cheap.. not like an audio cable at all.
About the sound card, Asus Xonar U1 and Creative 5.1 usb. which one u prefer?

c3 has better bass depth, but lacks the decay if i'm not mistaken. hence the bass sounds dry yet very accurate, more like monitoring kind of bass, not soft nor relaxing

to be honest I don't own a C3 but I do know it's characteristics pretty well

there's no need to upgrade the RCA cables... try it out first... the cable isn't really that crappy after all

upgrade the cable only when you got bored of it's sound...
when you do wanna upgrade... try upgrading to very thick gauge wires, if it doesn't satisfy you, upgrade to silver wire)

and for the second question... you don't need a 5.1 soundcard since you're not using a 5.1 speaker system... (and 5.1 speakers are a headache to play with)

so go get the U1

to get acceptable bass user have to burn-in the subwoofer quite a while


40hz of pure sine wave for 1 hour once a day (make sure the subwoofer is moving at least half a centimeter)
a week of that will do enough exercise for the subwoofer

Hem good point, but im the one who crazy about mixing audio..
i tot the creative 5.1 can turn other line out into line in like almost all realtek product..

Seriously i dont recommend c3 coz if the axternal amp spoiled or wad,the whole speaker is gone.. tats my case..

C3 have lesser bass but not boomy like the S330 (if sub turned up). overall i prefer C3. as for the amplifier, if S330 amp gone the whole speaker also gone.

C3 have digital volume control and infrared remote control.

isn't it the other way round?

cuz if external amp died... you get to pair your remaining speakers with other amps

but if it's built into the subwoofer or satellite, it's not very easy to replace the amp...

meh... if the amp dies... the whole speaker set is dead no matter if it's external or internal amp unless you repair or replace the amp

Can u suggest a speaker system, which is still work even after the amp spoiled or wad. maybe its perfect for me. im not good taking care my stuff...

YES i agree, indeed the C3 lack of OMPH in bass, but if u ask me about sound quality.. holy, almost par with Some Logitech model with THX... seriously..


D: i tot he just found a system that still alive even the amp died...

the problem with logitech is it uses small (2.5" or 3") full range speakers. compared to the edifier which uses two-way design, 3" mid and 1" tweeter.

so for me its the mids that matters. logitech's satellites focuses on the high so the mids is relatively weak. the only decent one is Z Cinema, and i think it's the only one with two-way satellites.

Herm, the main reason i choose this system is, the amp is external unit, if the amp is spoiled or fried, i still can hook up the speaker to other amp..
