guys, need help with few questions.
i've decided to get myself a Macbook Pro next month (after Snow Leopard's release) but cannot decide between 13 and 15. few concerns of mine: - a lot of ppl told me to get a 13, and a large LCD screen. but i worry that the color will not be as nice (unless i strike lottery and buy the LED cinema). i've not used any DVI b4. my current LCD is running on vga only. =_= also, will projecting onto a larger screen heats up the internal graphic card? - 15 inch is nice (of coz larger is always better) but it's quite expensive. was planning to go for the 1 with discrete graphic card since i feel it is a better deal than the baseline 15". But then, I realized the AppleCare for 15" is actually RM 1.2k compared to RM 800 of 13". VERY expensive for me. - do you guys (Macbook Pro users) get the AppleCare? do u think is worth it? or do u think i can postpone it until maybe a year later? I primarily use the laptop for some development work and digital painting (beginner level). Any advice? Sorry if I post it at the wrong place, don't know where should I post without starting a new thread. Admin, feel free to move it somewhere if you feel it's not appropriate. Thanks guys. |

QUOTE(daydreaming @ Aug 13 2009, 08:48 AM) guys, need help with few questions. -First of all, are you in graphic line of work? Don't get me wrong, all established brand has their good reputation as well. Color is not an issue, accuracy is more of a concern. Even so, it shouldn't affect you if you are not printing graphics out. I believe you can get a DVI/Mini DVI to VGA converter, no problem there. Where do you get the idea that an external large screen will heat up GC? If it does heat up, that's when you are displaying too many moving things across two screens. So, nothing major here. Still, you will have to check the limits of VGA resolutions (if you want something up to 24in/27in)i've decided to get myself a Macbook Pro next month (after Snow Leopard's release) but cannot decide between 13 and 15. few concerns of mine: - a lot of ppl told me to get a 13, and a large LCD screen. but i worry that the color will not be as nice (unless i strike lottery and buy the LED cinema). i've not used any DVI b4. my current LCD is running on vga only. =_= also, will projecting onto a larger screen heats up the internal graphic card? - 15 inch is nice (of coz larger is always better) but it's quite expensive. was planning to go for the 1 with discrete graphic card since i feel it is a better deal than the baseline 15". Thanks guys. -Not a concern as well, it's about your perception of value. -AppleCare is worth every cent you pay if you want to have a peace of mind. But check the limited warranty, it doesn't cover a lot of the expensive stuff, ie screens. (unless manufacturing defects) And lastly, now you mention about you are in graphic line of work. Don't worry too much of color accuracy in this level. You have to learn how to make the print as close to screen as possible. |
