hey guys,if i get a macbook pro, can i install windows 7 ?
will they be any problem if i do so ?
will my warranty be void if i do that?
which is better sony vaio fw55 or macbook pro ? both are  rm4499

For my case, my airport driver doesn't work on Win 7. But from other users works well.
Maybe my drivers installation having some problems.
Warranty will not void when u install Windows, u've a BOOT CAMP option for Windows.
For comparing vaio and mbp, don't forget you're in Apple Byte now =p

i'd been using win7 on my MB until now, installed through bootcamp. no problem at all, just that i think the touch pad's quite too sensitive. other, everything's good as it's installed in normal laptop..
Ya la... if u asked in apple byte for sure everyone says buy MBP lohh.. if u go sony forum sure lots ppl says MBP sucks or whatever. diff ppl diff taste mah. Btw, usually ppl scare of macbooks's bcoz the compatibility of softwares... So, i think with the current bootcamp, u don't have to worry bout compatibility issues, just get a windows installation and use ur bootcamp.

That's so true. It's obvious that if you compare PCs with Mac here, you'll only be getting biased replies. However, speaking as a person who have experienced both, I'd say that Mac is better compared to other PCs' normal usage performance. Maybe it's not suitable for gaming and stuff, but it rocks in terms of overall performance. Apple has designed the hardware of their products with OS X in mind. So, the hardware used were designed to support OS X and even bring out the best of OS X itself and the hardware. So, it's something that PCs don't have; the symphony of hardware and software. Some may say that we shouldn't get Apple notebooks because they are only available from one vendor compared to PCs but in reality, it is actually a plus point for Apple. Having it sold from one vendor means that the product's software and hardware are both supported by the company and so, their support system is better than the other vendors who sell PCs with a variety of hardwares but using the same software, which is Windows. Are they also the manufacturer of Windows? Or does Microsoft make their own PCs? Speaking about compatibility, now with bootcamp, PCs definitely lose if they want to use compatibility issues as their main argument point. I'd say that migrating from Windows to OS X was the best thing I've ever done because I've never experienced such smooth and stable operation on a laptop before biggrin.gif

Was tempted by the machines offer for the old previous generation macbook white at rm2999, but thinking seriously of either the MBP or the new white macbook with education discount online. Which should I opt for, the new white macbook or the MBP. Specs wise are more or less the same. Thinking of using for at least 2 years and buying in Jan 2010.

I think you should go for the new macbook unibody, coz for extra 250, u get better spec and most important u get the multi-touch trackpad. look out at garage sales, there is seller selling brand new macbook rm3250 only.

Hey guys,

My white macbook which is 6 months old is making noise when I insert the CD into the CD-Rom.

It sounds like bzzzztttt.. like the cd spinning really really loud. and most of the time, it can't load the things inside the CD.

Damn. now the CD is stuck inside my macbook. Can't even eject it.

Do you guys think I can claim warranty for this? Where should I go? The one is BsC. Is it still there?

I bought my mac from apple store Malaysia website.

Should I go claim the warranty or something like that?

If the cd already stuck, then just go claim for warranty, bro. just keep in mind, backup and del sensitive data frm ur hdd... they will boot ur macbook for test run. and ur sensitive data is at risk. i got this advice frm my friend working as tech. it's dangerous to just give ur lptop like that without saving ur sensitive data first. they might stole frm u.
