Are you guys setting bootcamp XP at 1440x900 res?

I can only set at 1368x768 something around that.. Couldn't find a way to make it same high res as in Mac OS X...

@ ujoewong and dvlzplayground - got ocz vertex for RM1550 for 120GB. Did not have intel X25M in shop. needed it like yesterday as I would be traveling...could not tahan dropped into mac studio on the way home...got myself the 24 inch ACD....looks wonderful. I will get myself either the innovative or Ergo dual arm in the US.

innovative - http://www.ergodirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=15949
ergo - http://www.ergodirect.com/product_info.php?products_id=15949

might be getting the maxtor dualheadtogo dp edition
url - http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/products/gxm/dh2go/

hehe ACD 24...here I come again....smile.gif

so i can operate on clam shell mode. really lacking on desk top space. Need to
compress....smile.gif

MBP is a baby..VMWAREd XP takes 10 sec from clicking the play to display user shell. VMWAREd Ubuntu takes abt 8-9 sec to login shell. And I maxed out there...2 VMWARE instances if i add another instance whole lap top feels slow..but usable but who the heck wants onli usable speed on MBP....v need instance response...click u response....i input a cmd code u resposne...i compile u response

....order the 8GB ram to boost things up....the octo MP....8-10 vmwared instances...no problem....for that I have the apple raid to take care of I/O crap (but I think apple raid is so so on performance onli)

hope this addresses your curiosity....smile.gif

vmware for mac is much for stable than win32 or win64 code base. On the Mac VM instance......i got thru the nite (8 hours at least) without meeting the BSOD...on the bladdy win 32 or 64 host OS....at least reboot 2-3 times on the vmware instance..........show us programmers that the host OS i/o n memory management for 10.6.xxx is really SUPERB!!!!!

hey dude. urm i think autocad needs pretty minimal graphic requirements to run. so it doesnt really matter which mbp you choose. totally different story if you plan to run 3ds max.

Yes i did. I had updated the latest Nvidia Driver 9600M from the official site only few days ago.
i had this situation since the first day i installed my XP(February).
I had googled around. I don't quite found people had this Resolution problem as mine?!.

I think it's about time to format my bootcamp XP due to games failed to run nicely compare to my dekstop PC.

I tried to install Sony Vegas 8 yesterday. It failed to launch. Yet my Desktop PC runs on a fly.
(I found that my bootcamp XP is unstable for gaming..hehe...Sound disappear or no sound. Same as i did try installed the latest sound driver.)

Hey Guys,

Is Bootcamp XP working just like our normal desktop XP at the similar performance and speed?
I felt it is not smoothing working as what i feel on my Desktop PC which is DuoCore 2.67GHZ with 8600M GPU card.

p/s: Mac OS X runs as a charm~!...haha...SEXY OS...

there's always a new mbp soon hehe. but the next one is RUMOURED to get a quad-core chip, which is a pretty big deal...so if u dont need a new notebook now, waiting for the new model would be wise

well, there is definitely a gap between laptop performance and desktop performance
it's quite interesting to figure out what is gone wrong with your bootcamp

so far as i know, wun 7 is not natively run in bootcamp, i always got frozen screen, dunno why

it is to install windows on mac...u still need a copy of windows

u got two choices...use bootcamp (its built in so it doesnt cost u anything...n have to partition) or virtual machine (either parallels desktop, vmware fusion or virtualbox...no need to partition). there's plenty of info about this if u care to do a search in this forum.

the rm6800+ u said is for the higher-spec 13" MBP. the lower spec would be RM6k.

Nice share, man! .... Rivatuner is a gem. I had installed it and followed the setting from the page. It makes two of my problematic games runs as smooth as the desktop pc at HIGH RES.

Dead Space - No More Audio Gone when touching TouchPad. (Haha.. pls dun believe i am playing game with touchpad.. i just try to do everything wif a laptop.)

L4D 2 - No more Audio lag and Graphics Stunt.

Unfortunately Bioshock still no sound after load into In-Game.

This is a new knowledge for me to tweak the best performance in bootcamp XP.. I felt that RivaTuner seems to cool down the bootcamp XP slightly 20%.
So far, it seems no more sudden heat up once load into bootcamp XP desktop.

I will keep spending more time in studying how to tweak RivaTuner and more driver conflict information from the page you shared with me.

Indeed helpful.. At least it shows my machine are not really hardware issue.

Thanks alot!

p/s: Still no way to adjust screen res to 1440x900..haha...
