IMO, Gin is not really a good ppl: he just do everything and anything for his lady Matsumoto.

Regarding Ichigo's spiritual pressure, I assume this is because he was taught and learn how to compress his overwhelming reiatsu and use it as weapon. This is the reason how he managed to defeat "hollow ogihci"+"tensa zangetsu" fusion. After he defeat the fusion, the fusion taught him the "final getsuga", as he finally managed to know the "nature" of his sword, he evolved into a sword-shinigami fusion like now with the power of both hollow and shinigami of course.
