on the backhand to bassline issue. my input:

its all about the proper hitting technique. pls observe or ask person who can perform this. its actually incoporating the shoulder power with chest (if this make any sense). swing out from the chest left to right (if right handed)

not just purely relying on flicking the back hand. wrong application on extreme side can cause dislocation of shoulder socket esp without proper warming up. pls becareful

so with proper technique n practise, u'll be able to hit to bassline.

weak backhand does not mean end of the world. u can compensate other techniques. eg. choose to cross drop or have the right hand covers 75% of the backhand shots. if still cannot, turn around do a roger-federer. LoL

I think serve umpire have this thing call grace calls. If he see it for 1st time the serve is little bit over, he/she will let it go. but then if repeated more than 2-3 times in a series of serve. they will call it foul.

u can watch back a few services from both side all abit over
