what os they use? vista home premium?
*
It's stated many times throughout the thread that this is a free dos product.

Does it available in Lowyat now? My father is interested.
*
It should be, but this is quite a hot item and I'm not sure how much stock is available. Best way to find out is to actually go there.

dont know ... so other k40ab user this this issue as well ??
may be ur game software problem ?? actually 4570 512mb DDR2 kinda weak ^^  the GC performance is 3rd class GC ald ^^
*
It's actually second class. I don't quite believe in the categorisation of GCs into classes, but there you go. And honestly, what do you expect? For 2k, this laptop is comparatively a monster.

edit: typo xD

hold on..

in post 430
"NO, I never mention anything like so. Just disable the onboard GPU and use the HD 4570 instead, you free up some system RAM too, the HD 4570 saves a lot of energy too when idle, the clockspeed and its voltage is very low in desktop"

so.. which actually saves power?? the onboard or the 4570?
*
Meaning the onboard saves power, but the 4570 when idle saves power too.

Prototype is more CPU-intensive than GPU intensive because of the large number of AI and the huge open world. My GPU barely has to work to run the game on high, but my CPU bottlenecks the game.

You sure about this?  I found out that I have no problem at all running Prototype at max with my Old and Outdated Athlon at stock clock. For Crysis and GTA4 tho it's another story, I usually oced it to at least 2.8ghz for better enjoyment.
I don't see how your C2D cpu can bottleneck the game when I'm running mine fine at lower clock and slower IPC of amd proc too rclxub.gif

Hmm, well it was a conclusion I came up with on my own. Because I saw no difference in FPS when I switched from 0x AA to 4x AA. Likewise for shadow and the other quality settings. And my GPU, which runs to 90+ celsius for Crysis, is ambling along at 70, like it's barely even working. I too thought that my GPU may be underclocking or something, but I've monitored everything with RivaTuner and it's not that. And no difference between GPU at stock clocks or overclocked either. So that's why I thought it was the CPU.

Just curious, how's the performance on this baby with Shift? My 9800m GT and the 9600m GT were both pretty much on par in Undercover, but in Shift the 9600 is getting smoked. Just curious if it's just the 9600 or if the Shift is a much more streamlined piece of code.

9600 and 9800 is a mid-high end card. this card is placed on lower middle series. so need me to tell you what the verdict?

Added on October 14, 2009, 1:45 am9600 got what? 64 sp right?

our card have 80(that is 16x5dimentional)sp.

16 vs 64, cannot go mah.

9600M got 32 stream processor & 128-bit memory, while 9800M got 96 & 256-bit respectively. Compare that to 80 (16x5) with 64-bit memory. This laptop is entry level, I thought someone with Elite tag on Mobile Computing and Hardware would be at least knowledgeable in this, no offence, so the performance difference should be obvious

Quite clearly the 9600m GT is inferior to the 9800m GT. And so is the 4570 is as well. That I am well aware of. My point here is that the 9600 did not scale very well from Undercover to Shift. I'm asking this merely to find out if it is peculiar to the 9600m GT, since it was on par with the 9800 in Undercover. Again, I'm only using my 9800 as an example because it scaled alright from Undercover to Shift.

So if you read carefully, I'm asking here for a comparison of the SCALING between the 9600 and the 4570.

I think it's rather unfair of you to think that I'm trying to brag because I have a "big name" laptop, I honestly am not. It's also strange that you should jump to such conclusions without actually bothering to read my post thoroughly. I have better things to do in my life than show off, I'm just interested in the differences in the graphics workload between Undercover and Shift.

Now if we can go back to a civilised discussion on that, it would be very nice indeed smile.gif

It's not mine, it's my friend's. I think he already has PhysX switched off, but I'll check. So far performance has been pretty bad on it, drivers and everything are alright and up-to-date. Which is why I'm asking here. But I seem to have touched a few nerves without intending to.

actually instead of here, y not try ur luck in BenQ thread instead???

if u ask me, i think it's pretty pointless to ask here, since PhysX is probably involved here...

I think I'll just start a thread in the main Mobile Computing forum, which on second thought would probably have been the best idea. Anyhow, I retract all prior statements. Pretend I was never here. Live long and prosper, people smile.gif
