tot directx11 shud be latest? maybe downgrade??

for the time being.. still knot use vista.. cd at home.. im outside studying.. have to wait till merdeka baru boleh balik.. haiz..

ayoyo..donload the update.. memang lor at dxdiag written 11..but im always update the directx..if u wan to make sure can play recent game..

so wat??? it may lack some DX9 and DX10 components, which u can get only thru update...

having DX11 doesn't mean u ve everything... it merely means, this machine is DX11 capable... dun forget u re having a DX10.1 GPU also...

directx 11,is the latest.. but u still need to update the database of the directx..

dunno,but im always donlod the latest directx 9c(march 09)..tho using vista dx10..coz experiencing cannot play games,but after install the latest dx9, the games are running again..

try ask najmods n astria,they both have great knowledge..hmm

Yes DirectX9 have several new ones, it seems like its being updated everytime new games comes out.

I just cant run messenger in wind7, dunoe why...

i think theres only a small difference between the directx 9,10 and 11 coz on 10 its just extra eye candy. plus directx9 gives better frames per second. I think directx 11 is not relevant for now coz most games run on 9 and 10. Only a few gfx cards support 11. hehe

DX10's main improvement is on the background...

try running a multiplayer game of Crysis... u'll see the difference straight away on the server... DX10 requires much less resources than DX9...

as for DX11, the main foucs is not graphic again... the focus is on DirectX Compute, which is to improve the efficiency on the use of GPU for non-3D apps... such as video trans-coding, HD video acceleration...

who knows, maybe even Windows can be accelerated with the use if GPU???

and as a matter of fact, GPU tends to stay ahead of games... DX10 was an exception though... Crysis was ready long before we even have a DX10 card in the market...

i bought k40ab today .. but when installing vista .. it say file mission or corupted..izzit becoz of my cd error or notebook error ?

nahh. u just bought the model with installed linux, just like me. some might go with free DOS and install windows later, or depending on which OS u prefer.

I'm convinced on the k50ab and going off to Low Yatt on Tuesday to get it.. I'm using the Asus for work (office), online and mid level gaming (dota and strategy games).

But I need an official Windows license for it this due to work and going overseas next month. Can I ask you sifus which version I should get for this lappy?

1) Get XP pro
2) Get Vista HP or Bus (with the upgrade)
3) Just install windows 7 and get the full one in oct

what are the advantageous of your choice and the issue I might face with drives and the install for the K50AB?

if u ask like that,there will be plenty of diff opinion..but for me, u r serious bout buying original OS..im recomend u using seven for rite now..wait till seven oficially launch..but u have to follow some guidance in diz thread to solve issues n prblems u will be facing with this lappy..
