Just wondering, anyone else have registered for the upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7?
Have you received the confirmation email and get an order number? Did you face any problems when checking your order status online?

I have registered for mine and got the order number  icon_rolleyes.gif
A quick check to confirm the order status shows that my order is "new" and the shipment will be in October or after Microsoft announces the release of Windows 7
A relief from previous login issues with the website..... A bug that they fixed
so I'm happy now  smile.gif

I will put in some details of the upgrade for the benefit of everyone :-
Any OEM or standalone Windows Vista purchased after 26 JUNE 2009 will be entitled to register for an upgrade to Windows 7. All you need to do is register. When Windows 7 is released all that registered will be sent by post a Windows 7 upgrade kit containing a Windows 7 DVD. The upgrade is NOT FREE. You would have to pay using credit card a nominal shipping fee in USD depending on country. For shipment to Malaysia, the fee I paid was USD 18.76. If your purchase is:
Vista Home Premium - upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium
Vista Business - upgrade to Windows 7 Professional (many thanks to bro pap5)
Vista Ultimate - upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate

If you have purchased your laptop or PC with OEM Windows Vista pre-installed, please check your manufacturer's website to register. See below for a list of popular manufacturers & where to register:
Dell - https://win7.dell.com/
HP - http://www.hp.com/united-states/consumer/w...rade/index.html
Acer - http://www.acer.com/windows7upgrade/
Gateway - http://www.gateway.com/windows7upgrade/index.php
Asus - http://event.asus.com/2009/windows7/

The upgrade is handled by Microsoft via Mentor Media Corp.

Hello sordanny, I'm currently using HP TX 2. I followed your link to the HP upgrade site and all. But now I've got a problem, HP redirected me to this website: https://www.hpwindows7upgrade.arvato.com/no...ca/Endcustomer/ and now they require me to select a country. The countries available there are only the United States and Canada. Why is it? Hope that you can help me.

Added on October 8, 2009, 7:17 pmI've tried this link at Microsoft as well http://www.microsoft.com/windows/buy/offers/upgrade.aspx

I've changed my country to Malaysia here and it lead me to a page which says "We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found."

I'm so stressed now. Any other fellow HP users that have upgraded can help?

Hi, Thanks a lot for the info bro. One more question, is the website trusted? When I try logging into the website Mozilla says the connection is untrusted. While I was goin to add exception a window pops out and displays this, "Legitimate Banks, Stores, and other public sites will not ask you to do this". Why is that?

Has anyone else here ordered and received their Windows 7 upgrade from HP? Maybe I'm just too paranoid?

Hi, you're so lucky you;ve got yours! May I know where did you apply for this HP upgrade? I;ve tried applying in two links but all I got was no response. The links I've tried are Mentor Media Singapore https://ebiz3.mentormediacorp.com/HP_APACWi...Select_Lan.aspx and APM Link Malaysia http://h50025.www5.hp.com/ENP5/Public/Cont...ID=374&pageID=1 this APM Link now cannot be found in this website anymore. rclxub.gif

I don't know whats wrong I'm hoping someone can guide me. I've sent the proof of purchase for both links but I didn't get any reply at all sad.gif . Any HP users out there fcing these problems?

yeah I can't log in too but I called the custopmer helpline and they said to register and send your proof of purchase to this website, which is owned and organized by Mentor Media Singapore.
https://ebiz3.mentormediacorp.com/HP_APACWi...Select_Lan.aspx

I even asked, what if January comes and later they deny my free Windows 7 upgrade because the upgrade period is over?

And the customer service gal told me I just have to wait patiently and they will get back to me. That even if its past January they cannot deny me of my Windows 7 upgrade.

rockasd, please tell/update me if you apply/recieve your Windows 7 upgrade. We can help each other. TQ. smile.gif

Yeah, I got my HP kit for free today as well. It was sent by APM Link (M) Sdn. Bhd. I got the redemption form from here. http://h50025.www5.hp.com/ENP5/Public/Cont...=reg_R1002_MYEN

However, the link now says page not found and I don't have the file anymore.

As for the Mentor Media, I just accessed the website https://ebiz3.mentormediacorp.com/HP_APACWi...Select_Lan.aspx
and the page says bad request. I really don't know where else to get these upgrades. But thankfully, I've got mine.
