Hello,
Im currently considering getting myself a home theatre set. Budget would be around 4-6K inclusive of TV and speakers. The tv has to be at least 37inches or higher
The models im currently watching are
1) Sony KLV40V550A 40" + Sony DAV-DZ590K/Pioneer HTZ777
2) Sony KLV40S550A 40" + Sony DAV-DZ590K/Pioneer HTZ777
3) Samsung LA40B530 40" + Sony DAV-DZ590K/Pioneer HTZ777
4) Sony KLV37S550A 37" + Sony DAV-DZ590K/Pioneer HTZ777
Any recommendation would be great and advice on those models would be nice as well TQ

But frankly, for home theater...I'll rather get a Panny and the Pioneer HTZ777...more fire power with 2 subs and with 4 tall boys (nice)...to need to go looking for a cheapo stand...then my next upgrade will be a Media Player for real 1080p killer videos

What Ronn meant is that u don't need professional advise when you are just looking for entry level set-up Just layman advise will do

QUOTE(ronnt88 @ Jul 14 2009, 12:54 PM) I think RM40k to RM50k should get u a decent setup RM5k - AVR (Denon / Onkyo / Marantz) RM15k - Projector & Screen (Panasonic / JVC / Infocus) RM15k to RM20k - 5.1/7.1 Speakers (Too many brands ) RM2k - BD Player RM5k - Cables & some BDs The balance depends on reno cost of room Look, what i've just found... who pijak who?

Maybe you should tell us your viewing distance, and the material you plan to use it for. That would help with the recommendation. 4-6K would only get you the basic HTIB if you factor out the display. Maybe you can change to a plasma (720p) at 3K and spend the rest on an entry level amp/speaker combo. Then you at least can upgrade later. With HTIB, there is nearly no chance to upgrade.
