do you think a good quality bad ass power cable will help increase PQ? just like and audio am, with good quality power cord, it do wonders? but is it possible to change to other power cord? cos my x10k have a funny clip on thing at the bag, not sure any 3rd party connector can fit into the plasma... hmm.gif

I wanna hear someone mention it does improve the image! laugh.gif

But 1 thing I know is make sure the cord is fully inserted to the Plasma TV....because, during installation or movable wall bracket, the AC cord does get loose somehow due to arrangement of it too tight. If the plug in not fully insert, sometimes you will hear buzz sound etc.

If still not satisfied and hand are itchy to add something, just add a Voltage stabilizer / Conditioner should be enough.

This is all very subjective. I like good power cable so I buy them. Don't really care if they improve anything or not.

Would like to get this for my LCD since whitesnake can't fit properly as the IEC is longer than standard cable.

The funny clip thing can be removed, use a small flat screwdriver and pry it open. It's actually a normal IEC plug.

So if you replace to a new power cord, try to put the clip on it. If can't I'm not sure the IEC can hold, it may fall off.

too high tech...I dun think even Nasa use such stuff !!.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I would be nice to get the best of everything....only my salary very low...so the standard one will do, as long as its fix properly and doesn't cause interference is good enough for me.

i am willing to spend RM80-RM120 for a good power cord...if RM300-RM 400 forget it, not worth it as i have minor color blindness...hahahaha

supplied power cord should be sufficient bcoz any improvement in PQ is too minor to justify the price of a specialized power chord. Even though manufacturers and magazines reviews say otherwise, just remember the magazines depend on manufacturer advertisements for revenue so its a win-win situation for both of them. We the customer who will end up spending un necessary money..

Those people who spend extra on power chord are suffering from brain dysfunctional disease... they're desperate to improve their equipments until a point where they fork out few hundreds on a cable, and their brain tells them there are a difference - because money has spent, so there must be a difference.

Can you guys stop calling bad names? If you doesn't agree to something, just give your reason, this way that other person might learn something and in the end might even agree with you. No need to say others having brain disease, etc. Thanks.

Nope, mine is very cheap one, check my sig for my equipment. I just don't understand why someone need to call other people bad names.

I had a white snake before, but sold it off.

fluorescent lamps in lcd is very sensitive to power supply. plasma display works almost similar(in principal) to that of fluorescent lamps.

Conclusion, both plasma and lcd benefits from AVR. Especially to reduce flicker. Though the effect may seem minor.

Bringing back a very old question....

Anyone upgraded their display devices power cord, be it plasma, LCD, LED-LCD, projectors or CRT tongue.gif ?

As most centered the upgrade for Power Cord in audio related devices ie AVR, CD-player, BR-Player, Amplifiers or Subwoofer, just curious anyone actually make it upon their display devices and does it benefit from such?

As our "Home Entertainment" comprises of both Video(Display) and Audio(Sound) do it make sense that the upgrade only centralised upon the Audio Section while seem the Video Section seem neglected. Of course most would say, we start the upgratidis on the source component and improve along the chain, but the video chain seem neglected while priority seem to be given to the audio chain. So any views? Is Audio take precedent over Video? whistling.gif whistling.gif

i think unless you are running a system that is in the tens of thousands of dollars... the benefits from higher end power cords will be too minimal...

This is what I have heard on Hi Fi and I am not offering explanation as to "why".

Different power cord do sometimes make the equipment sounded differently. I used the word "differently" and did not use the word "better".

To hear this differences, you have to plug it into higher end (read....expensive) equipments. Very unlikely to hear any different in low end equipment.

I believe some of us are running display devices (projectors, tv and such) that are of the expensive kind. Money are spent on better inter-connect, surge-protection and such, but do we leave the power cord out of this upgrade?
In the source and audio section, we upgrade the power cord along with the inter-connects but why we leave out that one link in the display devices?
As "some" of us do "hear" difference on audio, do the same "difference" can be obtained with power-cord upgrade on display devices? That is the question remains when upgraditis strike, do we upgrade "that" display power cord?
