 Advice on faulty laptop, Any companies fixing/buying faulty LP?

Sorry, but a 3 year old laptop is not "brand new" by any stretch of the imagination, even if it is in mint condition. It's positively ancient. Recover what you can from the hard disk, perhaps scavenge off the parts, thats most likely the best you can do. I doubt many trade in shops will agree to take an old faulty laptop.
