955 with 7Ghz record been set by using that mobo wahai abang oltromen!

During an AMD-backed overclocking event, a team of overclockers pushed the Phenom II 955 Black Edition on liquid Nitrogen and liquid Helium to 7000.4MHz. The score was validated by CPU-Z, here.

The score was attained on a DFI LP UT790FXB-M3eH motherboard with digital PWM. The CPU used was a cherry picked high leakage sample. There were a few TWKR CPUs at the event as well, and some of the participants claim that the difference between TWKR parts and cherry picked 955s isn't too big.

The overclockers also toyed around with 3Dmarks, scoring 50.017 in 3Dmark05 and 38.139 in 3Dmark 06.

some said here, the pwm heatsink of ta790gx a3 is not good..(is it ah khoo that mention is before)
so u mod with what to make it efficient? add some fan there? or take it off and replace with other heatsink?

UT is d most luxurious board from dfi bro, top of d line which guaranteed > RM900 satu keping (i'm quite sure of that). digital pwm is something one can't resist, alot more cooler than normal pwm...

yup bro, u need a special backplate for am2/am2+/am3... i'd say screw tr for ignorin amd platform...



i believe true come w/ screws & d upper part of d retention module but w/o d backplate it's as gud as nothing... seriously what's wrong w/ tr...

it's ok but not that gud imo. if compare d stock which is one whole chunk w/ less & fat fins to individual small pieces (for each phase) & more thin fins, which one is better? go logic even it's d case of copper vs alu.

copper is better w/ active coolin.

doesnt look bad but bad sata port placement

prime stable max out around 3.8GHz w/ 1.45~1.5v unless ya chip is slightly better in ocibility or u got better coolin bro. benchability wise i reckon some can do 3.9~4.0GHz w/ < 1.5v, even w/ ddr2.

u mite know these ledi but just in case:

1. ht link can't be > nb freq
2. imc volt should be d same (or near to) amount of vcore (if nb freq is oc'ed)

to add a few bout biostar board:

1. .cet bios files are safe to be flashed usin biostar windows flasher
2. .bst bios files (beta bioses) from RH better off flashed by dos flasher.
3. official bioses (.bst) are OK w/ biostar windows flasher.
4. beta bioses require ht link @ 1.6GHz (or lower i supposed, but can't be > 1.6GHz) in order to unlock core(s)
